Ole Miss

lol not true. The only one who can create for others and yet finish around the basket? lol RJ says hello. Dang even Gary can recognize that much. I honestly believe thats when RJ has done his best dishing for the open man.
RJ is not a facilitator by any stretch of the imagination. Scorer, shooter, yes. Hubert is going to ride with the ball in Cadeaus hands. Its better team ball. Cadeau with the ball engages Lubin and Withers and thats not the case when RJ dominates the ball.

I agree that he’s not the facilitator that EC is but you also have to realize he’s almost averaging four assists per game. And yes EC definitely looks for Lubin more than anyone else and for good reason here lately. I don’t know the numbers but it would be interesting to know where and who RJ does dish the ball to for his numbers. Sounds like a wwjd question lol

I can’t think of three teams that Elliott could go could not be the starting point guard for.
He needs finishers like any great PG has.
I think back to a young Ed Cota, who had so many strong finishers around him. It opened up the floor for him to show his talents.
Ty Lawson and Marshall did also.
So did Marcus and Joel.
Elliott has not truly had that. But he has done well overall and I’m thankful that he stayed on and hopefully doesn’t get enticed by a transfer portal opportunity.

Three teams in the country? I don’t know if that’s what you meant but I can name several teams he wouldn’t start on.

Again, I don’t think Cadeau is bad and he’s certainly playing really well right now. I’m just not completely bought in that he’s elite yet.

Oh good grief. Just stop.
And literally nobody cares what you have, or have not, "bought in" to.

RJ is THE only stay with him/face guard if you have to guy on the roster. He is undersized which makes that so much harder to get looks.

EC is still a dare him to score guy. He will be the key to the Ole Miss game, handle rhe pressure, don't turn it over, and be a scoring threat, which he has been lately, and we are golden.

RJ is the only reason we are competitive this year though, he garners all of the opposing defense attention to scheme for, opens others, who are all limited scoring skills guys, allowing them space to work, and we just do not have consitent scorers even with the dee locked on RJ. Without him, hot garbage on offense, ya gotta be able to make shots !!

You need a Snickers. C’mon man, he’s politely stating his opinion. Cadeau can be elite, I’m not sure I’d call him that just yet. I’m hoping he’ll return and be elite next year, we’re gonna need him to be.

You keep putting your opinions out there and I’ll put mine.
someone with so many awful takes over the years loves to vehemently tell everyone else how bad their opinions are. its maddening. what round of the NIT would we make it to if JWash was the starting center all season long like Gary suggested?

Back to this matchup with Ole Miss, Hubert is coming off a dominant performance vs SDSU. It was easily the best game that Cadeau and RJ have played together. Of course, getting that combination of play is not likely. The game visual looks to be the total opposite of Tuesday nite. Ole Miss wants to reduce Carolina to running half court sets. This game may evolve in a manner that Cadeau is not a factor and the weight falls on RJ within the half court scheme. Expecting we will have to win an ugly game, not our strength. Can we win this game with team defense?

I honestly just like discussing basketball even when I don’t agree or someone or everyone disagrees. I’ve been wrong before for sure and I’ve had bad takes too. Some people just feel attacked when you disagree with them.

Pretty much exactly my thoughts as well.

Look, as I have said all season BOTH Cadeau and RJ are very talented but they are both smallish, RJ is the scorer and Cadeau is the distributor. Thing is in most games this season when they are in together the chemistry seems some how off. To often this team has played better when only 1 of the 2 are on the court, almost like they "step" on each others game. It is as if they both have this need to be the lead guard and we end up with to many cooks spoiling the stew? I 100% want Cadeau back next season but we will need a solid back up for him and that IMO has to be a starter level guy that is willing to come off the bench, most of the guys we would really want will be looking for a starting gig rather than a back up gig.

I'm picking UNC to win. I think there's a difference in talent that will show up in the final score. Lubin and Cadeau avoid foul trouble. The right UNC players shoot FTs (RJ and Seth) and UNC wins by around 7 in a game they have around a 10-point lead for the majority of the game.

I think so. Ol sis is not world beaters. Have to have a half court to compete when things get tough. I lIke this match up but still have to show up and play well.

Cadeau said in a SDSU post game interview, things are slowing down for him and he feels more in sync with his teammates. He came in a year early and did not play basketball his HS sophomore season. So he has experienced some challenges and obstacles to overcome. He will live up to the hype. Just hoping his last outing was that inflection point in his play.
