Agreed. I had kind of let go of him. But this has reinvigorated me on that front. I'm hoping it's done the same for Bam. My original projection for this class was Bradley, Bam, Markkanan and Woods. If that comes to fruition, it will be a top 3 class and puts us right back where we need to be. And then the idea of Dennis Smith coming makes me drool. I'm still a long way away from thinking that's a real possibility but I'm gaining on it.
slinger, IMO it is DSJ OR Woods, not both and I would suggest that maybe the reason Woods, who lives across town from me has not already committed to us is he feels DSJ is a lot closer to UNC than so many believed for so long. DSJ is open, maybe I should say VERY open IMO, to playing either beside Joel Berry or replacing him, dare I suggest more open to playing beside Joel than Woods may be? Then there is this fella named Jalek that knows Woods but is a future 2 for us? Lets see, Joel, Britt, Kenny Williams and in theroy add DSJ and Jalek, not sure the PT fits real well for Woods.
Woods wants to be a Tar Heel, IMO, and Roy would be glad to take both Woods and DSJ and the cocks can pretty much slot him to start at the 2 but Frank Martin as the cocks head coach is not a great selling point for Woods. I hear whispers that Gtown may be making a bigger impression than many realize. Woods is a rather quiet natured solid citizen type of kid from a good family that just wants the best for their son. He is the kind of kid I love to see represent the school and the program and he is off the charts athletic, reminds me of Rodney Purvis with a little less attitude (a good thing). Just not sure we are the best fit for him considering what we are projected to have but it would be mutual love between he and Roy for darn sure. If the kid decides to get his degree before he moves on to play for pay, something that I have heard is a real possibility then UNC is the place for him. But if he is looking to be one & done maybe not, I don't think he will end up being one & done just not sure if he will realize that prior to committing or discover it after playing a season of college ball.
