Welcome to the hill Mr.Tony Bradley..

Agreed. I had kind of let go of him. But this has reinvigorated me on that front. I'm hoping it's done the same for Bam. My original projection for this class was Bradley, Bam, Markkanan and Woods. If that comes to fruition, it will be a top 3 class and puts us right back where we need to be. And then the idea of Dennis Smith coming makes me drool. I'm still a long way away from thinking that's a real possibility but I'm gaining on it.

slinger, IMO it is DSJ OR Woods, not both and I would suggest that maybe the reason Woods, who lives across town from me has not already committed to us is he feels DSJ is a lot closer to UNC than so many believed for so long. DSJ is open, maybe I should say VERY open IMO, to playing either beside Joel Berry or replacing him, dare I suggest more open to playing beside Joel than Woods may be? Then there is this fella named Jalek that knows Woods but is a future 2 for us? Lets see, Joel, Britt, Kenny Williams and in theroy add DSJ and Jalek, not sure the PT fits real well for Woods.

Woods wants to be a Tar Heel, IMO, and Roy would be glad to take both Woods and DSJ and the cocks can pretty much slot him to start at the 2 but Frank Martin as the cocks head coach is not a great selling point for Woods. I hear whispers that Gtown may be making a bigger impression than many realize. Woods is a rather quiet natured solid citizen type of kid from a good family that just wants the best for their son. He is the kind of kid I love to see represent the school and the program and he is off the charts athletic, reminds me of Rodney Purvis with a little less attitude (a good thing). Just not sure we are the best fit for him considering what we are projected to have but it would be mutual love between he and Roy for darn sure. If the kid decides to get his degree before he moves on to play for pay, something that I have heard is a real possibility then UNC is the place for him. But if he is looking to be one & done maybe not, I don't think he will end up being one & done just not sure if he will realize that prior to committing or discover it after playing a season of college ball.

slinger, I made that same point on 4Cs this morning, this does for sure impact decisions made by highly rated power forwards. I would suggest it may impact Bam more than Giles but both should look at this development.

When either Giles or Bam would be freshmen, we would have BOTH Meeks and Bradley as our centers, duke would have who, the kid that committed to them a couple months ago? You want to play the 4 and not the 5 and UNC has 2 solid guys to handle the 5 in your one and only frosh season while duke only has the one kid that may not even start and a well respected 4 that transferred to them (eligible this season). Brice graduating Mr Giles, think maybe you can beat out Hicks for that starting power forward role, you know that would be expected. DSJ isn't going to duke, they have Jackson now and Jackson is going on a Morman Mission, will that be in your one & only season at that school, will Thorton be gone to the NBA by the time you get there, you could be stranded playing the center on a team with no PG? That is a lot to risk for what you want Mr Giles and you don't really think UNC is going get a post season ban no matter how many times other coaches may hint about it, they wil say anything to get you yet UNC has now a wide open opportunity for ya! You better take it before Bam does cause Bam will know he has that same op you have.

In order of the bolded statements.
1. Jeter, Obi and Bolden (likely but not definite) will be there to man the 5. Jeter most likely starting- he was a 5 star after all. Plus as you have suggested on many other threads- be the player you are don't worry about if you're a 1 or a 2 or a 4 or a 5.
2. Correct
3. Wrong. Flat out- he will not be taking a mormon mission and will be there.
4. Not likely- plan is DT being their 2 years- even if he's not Jackson plays Point.
5. Wrong.

Exciting news. Bradley seems to be a great kid and I think he will be a nice
fit to next years team. Go Heels!!

Oh, ok. Because you said so, I will take it as gospel because you're so tied into the coaching staff and the recruits' families.

In other words, your post was as much opinion as Dave's. And when it comes to opinions, we like his better.

For those who have seen him would you say Tim Duncan should be his target to try to model his game after?
Check my thread on his game. I saw the Duncan influence the very first time I watched him, and as another poster pointed out, TB has said that is his model. So yeah.
In fact, his game reminds me of late-NBA career Duncan (if that makes sense), in that Tim can still be a boss against quicker more athletic players by being under control and knowing how to use his height, strength and fundamentals.

.... There will be a couple of others to follow this one. No predictions... Just been seeing this type of thing happen for about 50+ years...

Fell free to disagree but to say I am wrong means you are either the kid or a real close family member, I STRONGLY suspect you are neither so your opinion and a hill of beans leave me nothing more than a hill of beans.

1. I think Jeter then Obi would man the 5. Antonio V probably a few years from significant minutes so I don't think he plays into this. also there is a lot of talk that Duke leads for Giles, Bolden, and Gabriel....certainly depending on if those guys pick Duke and in what order that affects choices by other recruits. Of those only Bolden I think plays the 5 so he might not change Giles mind but never know...
2. I think DSJ will go to State(pure opinion based on Joel B being in his junior year with a senior Britt also there) would be interested if you thought one of those two could role to the 2 spot?
3. I have no clue when Jackson goes on his trip but the interviews I have heard from him has him talking about being there in 2016 and there has been talk by him about playing with Thorten.
4. Thorten OAD. I don't think it's likely right now but it seems every to 25 guy these days is a risk depending on how they do. Obviously can only wait and see.

Maybe now some fans will be able to sleep tonight while others know more players are coming and they have known that for a while. Welcome Bradley to the hill.

Stop saying he plays like Duncan. He plays like Deon Thompson and I am hella happy about it.
He plays little or nothing like Deon Thompson, bro. Different body type, different skill set.
Again, it's fairly obvious he has modeled his game after Duncan and that's a pretty dang good role model, whether he gets anywhere near that level of achievement or not. Why would you not want that to be said? o_O

Spot-on! Many tend to forget, in the 10th grade Deon was an offensive lineman weighing in at 300lbs.

Welcome to Chapel Hill Tony.... Sooner or later things always turn around... Thanks for sticking with UNC Roy!!!!

Looks to me like he plays in the post like Deon with the hook.
His body type isn't the same. Is that where your hang up is on the comparison?

I have no hangup. Bunches of bigs have jump hooks. Their games aren't even closely similar beyond that.
But hey, I offered up what I maintain is a pretty spot-on analysis of TB's game. You of course are free to think what you want.

I hope the coaching staff allow the young man develop down low and a mid range shot without comparisons-like Tyler H who developed(his own drive) he had no jumper but the post up hook and loved contact

Huge pickup!! I think business is about to pick up for the Heels!!

I am very excited with this commitment! Welcome to the Family, Mr. Bradley! I can't wait to see him blossom with Roy and co teaching him the finer points of the post game. I see more TD than DT in his game as well, but I support the idea that he should not be burdened with comparisons. Beware the snowball peeps; the King is back!
