Wendell Carter

Oh great!
I paid for premi in part to get away from this stuff and now they're going to bring their Gary-bashing to Four Corners too? You can't have a basketball related conversation here without personal attacks from this cadre highjacking the thread and now I'm going to be paying for more of the same?

If you don't like someone on this board fine. That's what ignore is for. The rest of us want to talk bb not argue and back stab like a bunch of teenage girls in a Lindsy Lohan movie. No offense meant to teenage girls.

You cannot expect to come on here and post recruiting info that is 180 degrees of what every guru(including THI premi) is saying and not expect to be challenged on it. I know this is gonna make Gary mad but he has on several occasions hinted "it's not over" "we were the leader early" etc. etc. with Carter. When all info from every other direction said not. As for 247 that was a pretty bad comparison since they have been 100% dook since 10-2014.

What difference does it make if Gary says "it's not over"? It's his opinion, nothing more and nothing less. I see what I consider foolish posts on this site every day but just because I don't agree with them doesn't mean the poster isn't entitled to make them. There are some who appear to think it's their duty to "correct" Gary every time he makes a post with which they don't agree. It's become a vendetta thing. Then it turns into a sniping contest, derailing the discussion about our beloved Heels, the reason we're all here in the first place.

Even the Hatfields and McCoys finally agreed to disagree guys. For the sake of the board and all the enjoyment we derive from discussing our favorite team, how about burying the hatchet and put him on ignore or just agree to disagree?

Can the mods do something this guy? The only time he comes out of hiding is to stir the pot. Its getting old.

How do I ignore a user?
By clicking on any user's name or avatar in a post that they've made, a pop-up window will appear showing several options. One of those
options, on the far right, is Ignore

If you click Ignore that user will be added to your list of Ignored users. You can manage the list of users that you've ignored by clicking on your username in the top right hand corner and clicking People You Ignore.

so...no debating opinions? I thought that is what the boards are for? You guys can say what you want but some posters bristle any time there is a dissenting opinion. I personally enjoy being challenged and love heated debates cause there is always a .1 % chance that I'm wrong.

ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON ARCHER !!!

Great post Rose.

Both dadika and Gary bring insight and nous to the board and it's annoying seeing thread after thread turning into this nit-picky garbage.

And you're right, there seems to be a 'faction' of anti-Gary guys who're just itching to prod relentlessly. Most of them contribute little but the odd "recruiting is up the sh1tter" and "Roy is past it" posts!

And yes, Gary is a bit like drsouth, neither back away from an argument, despite the futility of it all. I do wish he'd just pass on some of the comments made his way.

So it's an annoying, too-oft repeated cycle that hopefully will end with a couple of commits and the start of the season.

Agree with everything here.

I think Gary is a great poster and I've praised him repeatedly in the past for the info he gives us on our current players. Every month or so we get a great update post that gives us things that you'd have to be constantly walking around Chapel Hill to get (I think Gary has a team of minions scouring campus for us :)

Him and I disagree on the Daniels thing, it happens. Doesn't at all take away from someone who is a very solid contributor to the site.

and you should be allowed to disagree and voice that disagreement.

Debating opinions is one thing 58 but you tell me, if every time you posted anything you had a pack of folks ready to pounce on you, that cared more for tearing you down that discussing or debating your points, it would piss you off, wouldn't it? Now I agree, gary can be abrupt, he believes what he believes and he will not back down from what he believes. Gary does not like to be wrong, gee, who does? But gary is willing to put out there what he believes and when it comes to recruiting no one is 100%. I disagree with gary all the time, I disagreed with him on Carter and said so many times right here but just because I may not agree with something gary says does not mean I want to see him torn apart.

"torn apart" is a bit of an exaggeration ...don't you think?

I voice my disagreement with gary all the time and it has never been a problem? But the difference is I know him, at least I know his style and I treat him respectfully. Believe it or not folks can respectfully disagree.

58, I respect you as a poster, I kinda feel a lil change in you since the 247 debates began and I know you didn't like some of that discussion. It kinda seemed to turn in to a little bit of that site that you respect vs gary not having much respect for that site. Frankly, I didn't agree with either of you and at the same time agreed with both of you. There are things that I chose to use a line item veto on certain aspects while endorsing the rest.

where have I heard that before?
Couldn't help but laugh at that 58. It disgusts me that I used a phrase that has become synonymous with one of my least favorite people on the face of the earth.

In reality though, one situation entailed the needless loss of American lives and this one a simple expression of opinion. One has great import and the other, none for all practical purposes. I disagree with posters all the time, most of us do. And it's true that Gary is very opinionated. Guess what? Most of the people he bumps heads with are too. And all of them should be allowed to air their opinions. There are a few posters whose posts I give very little credence, there are many others that I have come to respect as people to listen, engage with, and learn from. If a poster believes Gary is full of it, why not just put him in the first category and move on?

Cool story bud. Glad you took the time to do all this. Sad it has to come to an ignore button.

because he doesn't agree with you?

Not sure what you didn't understand about what I said. I don't give a damn if he agrees with me or not, hell I know we didn't have a shot at Carter. I said the dude comes out of hiding to stir things up. Not true? Don't post for weeks, but then come back to take a shot at someone you have an arguing history with? That's coming to stir the pot and its sad.

Actually, all I did was copy and paste from the rivals help section. Took about 10 seconds, which is probably about the same amount of time it would take to use the ignore function. Thought it was a better idea than trying to punish another poster because you were upset at their comments.

Not upset at all, just seeing it as it is.

Because it wasn't over. Seriously... are you really that simple that you don't understand kids go through ebbs and flows in their thought processes on a huge decision in their lives?... and if he was "100% dook" then why didn't he just go ahead and commit to dook a long time ago? Kendall Marshall did with us. Why? Because Butter actually was 100% UNC.

The info I brought on Carter came from someone who sees him most days of his life, and the short summary is right here ITT.
