I hate this country. Wow, Ryan Lochte lacks intelligence... Who knew?!?! Oh wait.........everyone who knew anything about swimming already knew that.

And now the press is ripping on Lochte for bungling his apologies and all of this stuff. You know what the American press ISN'T talking about? Brazilian police pulled a gun on a few of our athletes for doing nothing worse than, what, destruction of property? Where is the bullish American pride that existed in yesteryear? America, back in the day, would've said "f*** Brazil" and would've had tanks at the ready (metaphorically) if another country had not only held our athletes at gunpoint, but then doubled up by preventing three of them from leaving the country.

Lochte is nothing more than a dumb jock. That was well known way before the Rio Olympics. But as a nation, we're totally cool with some corrupt Brazilian flatfoot pulling a gun on American Olympians? F*** that noise. I hate 2016 America.

Define "America."
The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (U.S.) or America, is a federal republic composed of 50 states, the federal district of Washington, D.C., five major self-governing territories, andvarious possessions.[fn 1] The 48 contiguous states and federal district are in central North America between Canadaand Mexico, with the state of Alaska in the northwestern part of North America and the state of Hawaii comprising anarchipelago in the mid-Pacific. The territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2)[17] and with over 320 million people, the United States is the world's third largest country by total area (and fourth largest by land area)[fn 2] and the third most populous. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many other countries.[23] The geography and climate are also extremely diverse, and the country is home to a wide variety of wildlife.[24]

Paleo-Indians migrated from Asia to the North American mainland at least 15,000 years ago,[25] with European colonization beginning in the 16th century. The United States emerged from 13 British colonies along the East Coast. Numerous disputes between Great Britain and the colonies in the aftermath of the Seven Years War led to theAmerican Revolution, which began in 1775. On July 4, 1776, as the colonies were fighting Great Britain in theAmerican Revolutionary War, delegates from the 13 colonies unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence. The war ended in 1783 with recognition of the independence of the United States by Great Britain, and was the first successful war of independence against a European colonial empire.[26] The current constitution was adopted in 1788, after the Articles of Confederation, adopted in 1781, were felt to have provided inadequate federal powers. The first ten amendments, collectively named the Bill of Rights, were ratified in 1791 and designed to guarantee many fundamental civil liberties.

The United States embarked on a vigorous expansion across North America throughout the 19th century,[27]displacing American Indian tribes, acquiring new territories, and gradually admitting new states until it spanned the continent by 1848.[27] During the second half of the 19th century, the American Civil War led to the end of legalslavery in the country.[28][29] By the end of that century, the United States extended into the Pacific Ocean,[30] and its economy, driven in large part by the Industrial Revolution, began to soar.[31] The Spanish–American War andWorld War I confirmed the country's status as a global military power. The United States emerged from World War IIas a global superpower, the first country to develop nuclear weapons, the only country to use them in warfare, and apermanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 left the United States as the world's sole superpower.[32]

Maybe Americans have become accustomed to this kind of treatment from their own law enforcement.

There is little American pride now. The current culture in our country endorses shitting on America because of all the bad things we've done in the past. It's sad that a guy from Jamaica cares more about the United States national anthem than many of our own athletes. But it's who we've become and I completely agree with Hark that Obama has been the main culprit. He said he was going to fundamentally change America. He wasn't bullshitting.

Is this one of the facetious threads I sometimes mistake as being serious? Because wanting to come within an inch of a war over a famous dumbass is utterly ridiculous.

But as per usual someone manages to blame Obama. smh. Y'all are crazy lol
