What if?

I'd like to put in another entry, motivated by the discussion over people being overly offended by certain things. This goes for all 3 levels, I'd just be able to do it more as the dollar amounts rose.

I'd use the money to pay for Trump faces and/or Trump quotes to be strewn about the campus of Emory, and Confederate Flags (or Rebel Flags or whatever we're calling them) to be strewn about the campus of Framingham State. I would then pay for a paid vacation day for the "Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer" so they could take the day off - and all the distraught, emotionally scarred, students wouldn't have anyone to console them after having to endure the hardships of seeing things they don't like around their campus.

I guess I just like to watch the world burn.

How did I miss this poast? Hark, I love you.

For all you guys who are wanting to buy stuff with the money let me tell you a story.

My dad is 87 years old and has been in an alzheimer's unit for a few years now. My siblings and I have been in the process of selling his house and trying to get rid of all his stuff. Last weekend we had a sale that was open to dealers only. I saw his golf clubs go for pennies on the dollar, artwork that he paid hundreds or thousands go for 25.00, woodworking equipment that he paid thousands go for almost nothing. The point I'm trying to make is this, don't buy stuff with your money, buy memories and experiences. No one can take those from you or sell them for next to nothing. The nursing home my dad is in will wind up getting everything he worked his entire life for. Buy something people can't take from you, buy memories. OK, I'm stepping off the soapbox, carry on....
I am absolutely not discounting any of that. But this was about how would you spend some fun money.

And RH, I did specifically exclude charity/giving it away, so you can't really fault folks for that. It wasn't really the idea.

Sorry if I made everybody look like self-indulgent pricks.

No, No, I'm sorry, this was a fun thread and I had no right to post a big downer in it. Please forgive me.

Apologies... I'm sure the Dumb & Dumber reference is inappropriate.

But I 100% agree that experiences should trump material purchases, unless the materials purchased were intended to create those experiences. I'm sure we all have examples (I sure as hell do) of family members struggling with things and creating those life memories is definitely on the bucket list.

1k- take my wife shopping. She never buys herself new stuff

10k- take the fam on a vacation

50k- send the fam on vacation and get hookers and blow
Your 1k choice made me LMFAO......my wife spends everything she makes on new stuff for her self.
