I love music and thought this might give us a chance to share our music likes. This may have already been done before. If so, mods can delete. Acoustic guitar pickers are some of my very favorite musicians. I just discovered these two guys, Strum may be familiar with them. Unbelievable guitarists playing remarkable renditions of two very famous Rock and Roll songs .

Never seen a guy play two guitars simultaneously. Incredible version of Sweet Child of Mine by Luca Stricagnoli.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Daryl Kellie

Some of my favorite albums from the last couple years are Alabama Shakes (Sound & Color) and Jake Bugg (self-titled and Shangri-La). The newest RHCP is pretty good, definitely better than the previous one.

Heard one from an Aussie band called Hockey Dad on NPR Music's First Listen that I want to check out a little more.

I'm definitely old. I have never heard of any of those artists before.

I don't really listen to much new music. The only albums I've bought from newer artists in years are from The Killers and one from The Neighbourhood (bought the second one actually but it was terrible). Oh, I did get one from a band called The Wild Feathers that was ok.

However, I finally after years of driving an old '99 Pathfinder got a new vehicle and it had the ability to hookup an iPod and of course I lost my iPod the week before I got it. It has Sirius radio though so that's kind of cool. I mainly just listen to sports talk though.

For those of you into guitars I have a buddy who is quite the player and went to a concert here in Nashville with a bunch of players. I can't remember them all but I think Vai, Malmsteen, Wylde, and maybe Bettencourt were there. He said it was pretty awesome.

Being old is not an excuse. Having bad taste may be an excuse, but not being old.

LOL, true, even though I do believe I have very good taste in music! haha .... but it's also called not having enough time to find new music and listening to the same stuff I listened to in the 70s! My twins keep me up pretty well but this they have not introduced me to yet. I'll have to ask them about it.

This is my absolute favorite song and I LOVE George!!!!! I have a cutie-pie friend who plays guitar and I bug the crap out of him to play it for me sometimes, he plays just as well as George. I could listen to him play it every day, seriously! Love it!

I feel you on the time problem. I've had the same problem since both my kids were born.

I have this album playing now on Spotify Premi . .

The average year of music listened to on this board is about 1978 haha. Here's some stuff I've been listening to, all released in the last year or two.

First up is my latest crush, Lake Street Dive and lead singer Rachael Price. @gunslingerdick wasn't impressed last time I mentioned them, but let's see what he thinks of their Hall & Oates cover.

Canadian band Whitehorse, which is the husband and wife duo of Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland. Don't think they were married yet at the time of the first video, which makes the introduction especially hilarious.

ETA: White Falcon alert for @strummingram

Last one, a guy named Garrett Borns whose stage name is simply BORNS. He has an unusually high vocal range but it works. His debut album is mostly electronica, but there are some cool stripped down acoustic versions on YouTube. The first two videos here give you an idea what I mean. Same song, the first is the album version and the second live recording is with cellos and violins. The third song is just him with an acoustic guitar and a female singer for harmonies.

Went to a Tedeschi Trucks Band show with Los Lobos and N Mississippi All Stars a few weeks ago.

That was an excellent show.

I've heard their song "Sweater Weather" and like it a lot. Is that from the good album or the terrible one, LOL?

Sweater Weather was their hit. It is very good. The whole album (titled 'I Love You') is good. Sweater Weather is probably up there, maybe the third or fourth best song on the album. Here are a couple I really like.

Here is one not on that first album I like. If you consider downloading any of their music I would get the first album and add this song. Music is basically a la carte today anyways.

I've been such a rap head over the past year or so. I listen to rap music exclusively when working out. And I also listen to rap a lot when doing yard work although not exclusively. Other than that, I usually listen to what the kids want to listen to. So it's a lot of pop and top 40 stuff. However, I have turned my older son onto some good stuff and he now asks to hear Johnny Cash, The Avett Brothers or YMSB. Still working on Bob Dylan. That's not quite as easy a sell.

I know many of y'all aren't into rap but for those that are, here's where I am. I used to say that rap produced after 2000 was garbage. And 90% of it is. But you can find some decent stuff if you're willing to look. Pandora has done wonders for me in this way. I can put in an artist that I know and like and then by listening to that station, I get turned on to many new ones.

Some guys I'm currently working out to (NSFW):

Check out Tedeschi Trucks Band. I doubt anyone here has ever even heard of them but they are mind boggling good musicians.

the best concert was the Tedeschi-Trucks Band.... put on a wonderful show.

So, I've been working through some lists of greatest debut albums, and one of them was Tedeschi Trucks Band "Revelator". It is really good! I've been listening to this album non-stop for days, and I'll definitely be checking out their other albums next. I'm so glad I finally checked out this band.

They are absolutely phenomenal. They record their stuff on tape the old fashioned way too. Everything is recorded live, they don’t punch in one track at a time like most bands today. I’ve seen them live a few times and I can’t even begin to describe how amazing they are. Derek Trucks is the greatest slide player of all time IMO. No disrespect to Duane of course...

Derek's guitar work is phenomenal. And I really like the overall sound of the band, and Susan's voice is great too.

Yeah it’s crazy how they can have that many people playing together without washing each other out. They’re masters of finding their own spot in the mix and crushing it without constantly stepping on each other’s toes. According to Derek they wanted to build a band that would revolve around Susan’s voice.
