What time does the bar open for business?

Это почти пять часов в Москве.

Russian? This here is 'Murica. If you remember correctly, we won Red Dawn. Ok,...so we speak American around here. Don't come at me with that pinko commie crap.

Today I'm pouring the first one out for my mom. I can't believe it's been five years since she passed. I always knew she was special but now that I have kids of my own I have a new appreciation of her incredible strength, love, and patience. It still hurts that she's not here, especially to be a part of the lives of my little girls and my sister's boys, who would have brought her so much joy. I know she's here in spirit, though, as my daughter (who has only seen her in pictures) tells us regularly, including this morning, about conversations she's had and things she's done with her Grandma Nancey.

Sorry to be so sappy on a Friday morning. Now back to our regularly scheduled silliness, roasting, and bickering.

Hang in there, bud. I hope you and your wife have a good day of remembering and honoring your mother. There's no love like the love from a mother.

** back to the flippancy of this thread **

My camping trip concluded this past Sunday and I made a pledge to myself while laying down to fall asleep on Saturday night that I wouldn't have a drink until Friday (today). Usually I never make it with such vows and always cave, but this time I actually made it five straight days without a sip of alcohol. It's a mini victory for me.

That being said...........I'm gonna have several drinks tonight.

I'll drink to your mom as well. Hear, hear! (I know that may have read like a "your mom" joke but I meant it sincerely)

How were the campground whores? You never reported back.

Sorry about your mom , based on the age you appear to be she must have died young.

She was 59 and lived a very healthy, active life. She had had heart surgery to repair a valve about a year before, and had long since been given a clean bill of health, returned to aerobics, etc. Then one night it just simply failed, and she was gone in minutes. Nothing anybody could have done.

My condolences, J . . 59 is just too young to be taken by the Heavenly Father.
