I am buying a house beside a farmer north of Greensboro, NC. The farmer was selling me tomatoes Wednesday after work and after paying him he said he needed to talk. First he says you don't know it but your septic lines are 3 feet underground and they cross over into my property. If we can come to a rental agreement I will allow the lines to stay. If we can't come to an agreement then I will bust your lines and your plumbing will not work ! The location of the lines according to him are running from right to left on his side of the property behind my house. He said he wants to put a fence up and allow his cows to graze the field and it is just a field he does not grow any crops on this field. He said he can install the fence without busting my lines if I agree to pay him a monthly fee but will deliberately bust them if not. I have been buying produce from this guy for many yrs before I moved beside him and never had any problem with him. The lines he says were installed in 1972 when he was just renting the land and later came in possession of the land. Any suggestions ? I am calling an attorney Monday, spoke with Guilford County epa and my insurance company. I can't find anything on the internet similar where someone ask you to rent your piss lines from them. Thanks in advance.
