I agree that his stupidity eventually outstripped his talent, but Washburn was incredibly talented. (His drug issues didn't help either)

Sampson was a real freak I agree. He was a little ahead of his time, however. Imagine Sampson now when athletic bigs that operate outside the paint are showcased. He would be a real unstoppable weapon these days!

I still think that DT was the best ever and Bias and Sampson are hard to separate. I'm old enough to have seen all of them play in person and Sampson could cruise at times. DT and Bias were at 1000 all the time!

Dick Groat had 48 against us for dook. He went on to a hall of fame career as a baseball player.
Correction: Not in the baseball hall of fame. Good career though.

Thompson was the best player, by far. But three Dookies that I always dreaded playing against were Laetner, Bobby Hurley and Gene Banks.
