We are all going through withdrawal. Many of us are experiencing an extinction burst.

Wouldn't it be great to be able to look forward to an ACC All Star Game?

Maybe let the public choose some of the players. Make sure every team has at least 1 player on the roster - perhaps chosen by his teammates, or by coaches.

I know the NBA holds its All Star game during the regular season. But that doesn't make sense for NCAA teams. But how about in May, give or take?

I'd definitely watch. Would you?

Depends on who is on the team. I doubt it would be very good though. The best players would probably skip it to get ready for the draft and to avoid injury. I'm really not a fan of all star games in general though. It basically just turns into a shoot around with no D.

Yeah, but still a whole lot of fun.

It would probably make sense to exclude those who put their names in the draft. One more (very tiny) reason to stay in school.

Or not. If you hold the All Star game before the draft, some in the draft could want to do it to showcase their skills one last time. So we might see some seriously good play.

I assume we would divide the conference into North and South. Probably something like this (either this or we have to split up NC teams - which could be OK, too).

SOUTH

UNC
Duke
NCSU
Wake
Clemson
Ga Tech
FSU
Miami

NORTH

Virginia
Va Tech
Louisville
Notre Dame
Pitt
Syracuse
Boston College

This year the South would presumably kick butt.

Who would you pick for the North and South teams? At least 1 player per team. 12-man roster.

UNC = Jackson, Kennedy, Berry

Or, if we only allow returning players, Berry and Theo. Theo should be great in an All Star game because he's a good free-lancer.

I get all the basketball I need during the regular season(including tournaments). I don't live and breathe basketball. The NBA All-star game is unwatchable.

All that is true, but I guess it's just not something that I have a personal interest in. I can certainly see why some people would, so I won't bash anyone who likes them.
