Will Wade….

Keep shooting your mouth off ...your delusional fan base loves it...but something tells me this bag of bs will live to regret his comments

I don't root against guys who played at Carolina, but Lubin might be my first.

FYI; if Lubin is averaging 15 and 8 for your team all season, I got a couple dollars to say your going to at minimum not make tournament and probably be below .500.

Wade trying to rejuvenate a good rivalry. Hubert taking punches and turning the other cheek. HD needs to win bad this year.

I don't and have never bad mouthed transfers until now.

Players play at 4 different schools in 4 years for a reason. Clearly VAL thought he was some rising star and moved from one school to the next to find his place. This time he saw the writing on the wall and knew his numbers wouldn't remotely see him as a starter compared to who we upgraded to so he BS'ed/ lied to the fanbase as he was clearly leveraging the team and I'm guessing the chips didn't fall exactly as he'd hoped.

Now his current coach of the season is talking shit and putting VAL in cross hairs that well could see him, his player and his irrelevant basketball program embarrassed.

Say what you will about Coach Davis but at least he doesn't pull shifty punk ass stuff like MOOU's coach (already forgot his name).

Well at least now I have a reason to care when we redeem our two free wins at the Hurricanes Arena. Oops I meant the PNC arena. Wait no...RBC Center? Sorry, uhhh *checks notes* Lenovo Center.

Willy Wade is going to be fun to hate on, he is going right at UNC like K did, looking to stoke the fire and when it comes to NC State it doesn't take much to stoke that fire.

How long until Wade is fired by Moo U? What is your over/under? I say 4 years and it is my fondest hope that we continue to own them his entire tenure!

I heard it was the signing of Jarin Stevenson (and the money promised to Strvenson) that ultimately made VAL break an already agreed upon contract and bounce. Not sure how the whole “I have all intentions of being back in Chapel Hill next year” played out.

Over. He will do well there. It’s more likely he gets a better gig than it is they fire him in under 4 years. He’s probably their best hire in the last 20 years.

I dont think they ever fire him but he possibly moves on before 4 yrs to $ec

He's stirring the pot, and if I was a State fan I would not have a problem with it. He wants all the smoke, he will get it. I see no problem in his bravado, but UNC should happy to oblige. 😃

Meanwhile the State twitter account just put up a highlight of Lubin getting outworked by Jerry Deng. Who is Jerry Deng? The #276 player in the transfer portal. He averaged 15 minutes per game off the bench on a bad FSU team last season.

So . . . Wade got himself a Withers. He has a very good SF/PF, a decent PG, a top freshman guard....

Sounds like he's trying to build a team that looks like last year's UNC squad.

Kidding aside, there are a bunch of question marks on the NCSU team, but if I were a fan, I'd be optimistic.

A shame we don't play them twice (or doesn't that start yet).

I like the trash talk and think it gives the rivalry a little more edge. I don't see much wrong with it, and UNC fans are in their rights to respond however they want to. This is the essence of sports.

This is also stuff college basketball fans have to get used to. In pro sports, free agents sign with rival teams all the time. It's part of what makes pro sports interesting when those players return and face their former teams. One day, a UNC player will transfer to Duke. One day, a Duke player will transfer to UNC.

dook player already did transfer to UNC yesterday…The best Catcher in the portal…It’s also happened in football also…It’s college sports now…

As far as Wade goes he definitely has the fanbase excited….I have never really followed him that much…Is he a good coach…

Man I thought he would have a better record at LSU….Will be interesting at west Raleigh for him…

So Wade goes from LSU in the SEC to McNeese St for what reason again? LOL

Who cares?

The real question is whether his worse results at LSU are predictive of his performance in the ACC.

Just comparing their records, it's hard to tell if Wade is a little better or a little worse than Hubert. Based on W-L stats as well as on this year's recruiting, this looks like it could become a nicely resuscitated rivalry.

I hope Lubin plays 35+ minutes against UNC, means our post players could put up career numbers. When Wade goy caught up in the FBI wiretaps I though he should have been banned, he is simply a dirty coach in my opinion. I'm probably in the minority but I still think character matters. Glad state got the guy they wanted, I think Wade is another Mark Gottfried.

You're not alone. If a NCAA ban would be too harsh, at-least a D1 ban would have been appropriate. Along the same lines, kind of surprising that a major D1 program, knowing what's out there, would take that risk.

Not really

CaninePettyChicken-size_restricted.gif

I think we’ll see Lubin starting at 5 now

Not really

You can't be serious. State loses a top prospect that was likely to start at center at some point this season. They replaced him with Wyoming's back up center, who only managed 10 minutes a game at Wyoming, was very foul prone, and shoots 35% from the FT line, and is an unathletic plodder.

They have no choice now. They are stuck with Lubin as their starting center. We saw what that does to a defense. State is going to be a bubble team at best next season.

Here is freakishly long Paul Mbiya (Tipton says he's 6'11" with a 7'7" wingspan.)

I wouldn’t say bubble but they’re def the donut team we were last year. Lubin will def have the chance yet again to prove his worth.

Meanwhile, Bill Self has steadily put together a sneaky good Jayhawks team w/ the additions of Mbiya & Rosario.

1 Darryn Peterson (HS)
2 Melvin Council Jr (SBU), Kole Rosario (HS-Rec)
3 Jayden Dawson (LUC)
4 Tre White (ILL)
5 Flory Bidunga, Paul Mbiya (HS-Int)

The shakiest part of their lineup is the 2 and 3. Tre White is an undersized 4 but athletic enough to play the 3. Have to wonder if Self attempts to play both Mbiya and Bidunga at the 4 and 5, sliding White to the 3.

This game in CH just got a lot more interesting.

Are we scheduled to play Kansas at CH this year?
