thanks, both for the response and for the compliment regarding my lucky stab.
If you saw my hint ('grrr'), I thought the word might have been 'tiger'. I thought I had it Sherlocked. But 'fiber' makes sense to me now.
I promise I went straight to the NYT website and solved before I came here and saw your results

Anything I post in this thread shouldn’t be a concern. I just enjoy doing it with others. I have a feeling that I may have run @prlyles off by joining in.
I seriously doubt you simply joining in ran @prlyles off. You being better might have. You won't get rid of me that easily though. I don't care if you're better or if I'm better. I just enjoy playing and the occasional interplay that sometimes follows, which is usually centered on me bitching about something. It's that I don't care is why I questioned your need to excuse what needed no excusing. I'm not sure how you seeing my post might have helped you achieve your score, unless it would be that you might guess my word progression. Hell, I don't care. Do whatever, cheater. Har har, I kid, I kid.
F this game, F the internet, and F the world. I'm under the weather and I don't feel like dealing with this silly horseshit.
I can't find the current Worldle game; a past already-played game pulls up instead and when I try to find it with Google it defaults to Wordle time after time after time, even changing my corrections. F Google too.
And when I do get to Wordle to play it instead, it gives me the answer before the game ever even appears. I'm generally not a quitter, but I've had about all I want of this ridiculous and unnecessary self-torment. Thanks for hearing me out. And F you too for even bothering to read this.

No, you didn't run me off. I have been in Europe the last few weeks, I will start playing again when things get packed away.
All that is F’d up, especially the part about being under the weather. I hope you get better quickly. You did mention that you adjusted the date because you missed a day. Could that be the problem? Anyway, if you decide to quit, well F you, too.
I was kidding about running you off of course and glad you’re back home safely.
