Would getting AJ Dybantsa cool off Hubert's hot seat?

If he is asking for 4-5 million I'm pretty sure the Tar Heels will miss on this one as I see no evidence that we would put out that kind of money. But, I would think that a player with as much potential for a lucrative salary in the NBA would go to the school of his choice as far as team/university/coaches/etc rather than top dollar for NIL for only one year.

I get it but that player also wants to be developed in that one year also.

And he would lean UNC because we develop players ?? You see where I'm going with this.
Yeah the only player we have seen any development from since Hubert took over is Trimble. I would lean toward regression in that time from others.

Development sounds wonderful until one offer is 9 mil higher than other. A Maine boy here why Did UNC not offer Flagg would not have fit in with Lubin Tyson. Not that big a fan of Flagg but give him to us we tear teams apart, Kansas in second half against us with Flagg would have cried and hid from the demolition strikes coming.

Apparently we learned early on that he wasn't coming to Chapel Hill so we didn't waist any recruiting time on him. The kid has to show mutual interest to get an offer.

No it isn't. Hubert has no control over the millionaires and billionaires refusing to contribute to UNC's NIL collective.
We had the money to get a solid big out of the portal this year! If you were a premium member you would know that! Hell, we spent around 700,000 on Tyson supposedly! Denis got at least 600,000! Danny Wolfe wanted 700,000 initially! Not sure if they was increased! You don’t have to get the million dollar kids to be competitive! If we could have got a tall and athletic center we would be better off! For us NIL is part of the problem…but Hubert’s recruiting has been terrible lately! If we can’t afford the top players in the portal why even recruit them! Hubert was either too soft to tell players like Washington, and Withers that they aren’t good enough to start or he truly believed that they were! Not sure how he could possibly think they were!

While I agree that he is somewhat handcuffed, at the end of the day they pay him alot of money to win basketball games so ultimately he is responsible.

Exactly…Also if you know you can’t afford a certain player why waste the time and resources on him…Move on to someone you can afford and coach them up…

From the same premium that claimed UNC's NIL was "competitive" right up until the day they found out Hubert had yelled at donors because our NIL isn't competitive???

Yep! I trust the people who run this site and see Hubert and the ppl in this program everyday, not a dumbass name DaveChapelle and all of his thoughts…it was posted the other day that he could have got a better big from the portal but didn’t want to if they were asking for money upfront…we might not be able to pay 3-4 million for top players but we could have got players like Danny Wolfe! Hell, Hawaii’s big guys were better than ours…you think we could have afforded them? You think Zeb Key, who was light years better than any big we have, would have came here for what we paid Tyson? Yes…There’s players out there that aren’t ranked super high but are still very solid, big, and athletic ..Hubert’s recruiting strategies were awful and he was being too selective! Look up the big guy from Penn State…he would be great here! I doubt they paid him much over what Tyson got! Auburn has a D2 transfer that is better than any 4 we have! Players are out there. Hubert didn’t find them! On top of that we have 2 scholarships that are open!

Him to BYU is all about the money because who chooses byu over bama, Kansas and UNC nobody in their right mind.

Add those those twp bigs plus weird name plus those two guards. GOOD as you can get in college. Couple one and dones plus three foundation pieces.

I agree with what you are saying wbuthen he was watched by them he is 2 in the country. Way overhyped do you think UNC did not look at John Wall bought by kentucky.

So BYU is prepared to pay this kid as much as they are paying the head coach. Sounds real smart to me. All that for one year and he’s gone smart move there cougars.

people will pay if they like the product. they don’t like Hubert nor his product. and stop the dumb ass narrative like poor Hubert doesn’t have talent. somebody posted recently a breakdown of rosters makeup of the top 10 and on paper we had the most highly rated kids. poor scheme, poor development and poor overall product. that’s on Hubert.

BYU didn’t pony up the cash…. The billionaire owner of the Utah Jazz gave them an open chequebook…. Easy to spend big when it’s someone else’s money.

I am beginning to feel this is very true.
Personally, I had hoped for Wes to get the job, but I was willing to see how Hubert went… there’ve been some great moments, but no consistent excellence, nor an indication that it’ll happen.

Ok so pretty much the same someone paid him unlike here Jordan didn’t pay him so there you go someone else’s checkbook.
