I was at a gym about 10 yrs ago to play some pickup basketball. There was a guy there about 6'4. He was the best player out, there by far. He never lost agame no matter how bad his teammates were. He could shoot dribble and and play defense. After the games we started to talk. I asked him where does or did play basketball. I was shocked when he said Methodist university. No disrespect to Methodist but that hit home. Here was one of the most gifted players i had played with and he didn't play D1. I thought how did this guy not be good enough for atleast a low level D1 scholarship. Well I didn't want to pry, but it did make me think how many kids slip through the cracks or just how good you have to be to be a D1 athlete. Have you guys had moments where you've seen ppl do somethings and are wowed when you learn they weren't a D1 athlete?
