Netflix Finds

I started “outer range” with Josh brolin last night. About a rancher dealing with weird stuff.

Spoiler alert

So about 12 min in he finds a huge bottomless perfectly cut hole in a field of his. When he sticks his hand in he gets visions of future events. So he goes home…..AND TELLS NOONE. So yea I ain’t watching any more.
I love shows about ranchers dealing with weird stuff. Guess I won't need to see this one now. Thanks.

And I love shows about ranchers with blazing hot daughters who kick ass and take names. I missed out on Yellowstone but they had several marathons recently and I caught as much of them as I could. Great stuff.

OOTB's Political Thread . ..

That's where you're wrong. There's nothing fraudulent about early or mail-in voting as Democrats have long known. It's imbeciles like you who are just now catching on.
catching on to what, dumbass? YOU are the one who made fun of mail-in voting, not me. I just pointed out that you were obliviously trashing Biden and the dems while trying to do so to Trump.

Mail-in voting is not just OK, it's necessary. I said it's the ABUSE of it that's wrong, such as the abuse that occurred in the last farcical election. Mail-in voting should be only for those who can't...not who won't... get to a polling place with, IMO, proper ID..

I also recently advocated here an early voting period.

But you do what you as a lib moron do, just make shit up...and take something out of context to respond to.

Yeah, it gets a little confusing when we start off with what if this or that guy comes in, the combinations change depending on who we do get to come in. If able to pick 2 more guys from the portal right now, my top choice would be Lubin and Oyenesa and the one that would cause many to disagree would be my taking Oyenesa over Hawkins, I can absolutely understand folks not being in agreement with that, it is a hard call for me to. Hawkins is the more talented guy of the 3 and he is 6'10" but I look at our 4 spot right now we have JWit who I think has more than we saw last season. I look at the potential of getting Lubin who I see as a really steady guy, I like AJ's compare of him to Garrison Brooks, not spectacular but the kind of blue collar guy all teams need. Those 2 would make my consideration of our 4 spot pretty darn solid with the versatility of both having played the 5 in the past is a nice bonus.

PLease note, I AM NOT CALLING any of these 3 guys to UNC as a done deal, I am just speculating on guys we may have a shot at.

Oyensea gives us the 1 thing this team does not have, that broad shoulders 7ft 250lb defensive presence in the paint that intimidates shots, I think we need that having small guards in RJ & Cadeau. Hawkins gives us a better version of what we already have, Oyensea gives us something we don't have but need.
Please excuse my lack of knowledge (and laziness in not wanting to do the research), but how does he (Oyensea) do in defending the PNR? With a LOT of bigs developing shooting chops out to and including the 3, if I were opposing coach, I would run him out there until he dropped or fouled out!

I'm not saying I don't want him but many of us have concerns with JWash's D and lack of mobility, seems like any armchair coach (like me) might be able to come up with a plan to neutralize Oyensea's biggest attribute by not allowing him to camp out and patrol the lane.

I saw no mention of Oyenesa in your post. I will look back. I had responded to the earlier post that I thought Hawkins would be battling with Withers as more a 3/4 type as opposed to any 5 talk, where I think Washington will only be. Lubin is with Washington in the possible minute allotments in my opinion if both he and Hawkins were landed, Lubin also is able to play 4, but if only those 2 are added I think he has to play 5 in his minutes with the roster makeup. Withers and Hawkins do not fit the 5.

That is where my mistake was in missing your counting Oyensea coming in with those two in the hypothetical minute talk and if not Withers and Lubin being just the "bigs" backups.

How's the ACC Doing In the Portal and Filling out Rosters?

Some of the info in table form. Teams with a guy still in the draft who may return are listed with 2 numbers.

On the assumption that most teams will stop at 11 or 12 players, most of the teams are done or nearly done - but a few are lagging. I updated ESPN's numbers with recent additions listed on On3 for Wake, Stanford and Va Tech.

How's the ACC Doing In the Portal and Filling out Rosters?

ESPN has a very informative article that's only a couple of days old.

This excerpt from the Louisville overview is an eye-opener

I think his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preference is to get some favorable feedback from the Association and remain in the draft. I would guess the door is ajar, but not open quite yet.
Per ESPN

Coleman Hawkins (No. 11): Another late portal entry, Hawkins will attend the NBA draft combine and has said he's focused on going pro but has still left the door open. Has already been linked to a number of schools, including North Carolina, Louisville and Arkansas.

Who's Left In the Portal?

Here are the remaining guys in the top 25 of at least 1 of 3 services. Are these services any good? Can you suggest better ones that aren't behind paywalls?

Which of these guys, if any, are we going after? [I added Lubin at the end.]

On the one hand Hawkins responded. On the other, the emoji could be interpreted as dismissive.

At least he knows UNC fans are interested. I wonder if our coaches have touched base with him. They can do that, right?

Wasting RJ Davis' final season

You accusing Jalen Washington of slander too?

'Washington initially tore his ACL as a sophomore in high school and had surgery to repair it then. But he said the surgery “wasn’t performed properly.” He played his entire junior season on a bad knee, and the graft used to repair the knee gave out on him in July 2021.'
I'm familiar with Jalen while at Gary West Side, before and after the first so called "botched" surgery. That was the thought/hope for explaining the post Jalen. It was looked into, nothing was found to move forward with that thought toward the surgery.

Much like Lonzo Ball after his 1st surgery, was assumed to be "botched" he now has had 2 more that did not fully "take" either, all by nationally renowned surgeons and is doubtful to ever get back to playing strength.

Jalen's second surgery did not restore even a glimmer of his former mobility either. Some bodies/knees respond differently. Jalen is a totally different player post injury for sure, and his game is still adjusting. I'm rooting for him.
