2 Raleigh Activists pull down the Rebel Flag in Columbia.

We haven't had peace and quiet for a long, long time, maybe ever. There will always be something to fight about.

Well, I mean the more overt, in-your-face, demonstrating in public stuff. Maybe it's always a spark away. Like John Brown and the Harper's Ferry raid.

This kind of stuff is NOT helping the situation. Sheesh.

Oh, and the linked story says they're from Charlotte.
The girl was from Raleigh, the guy is from Charlotte. Either way, this is escalating so far from what actually happened.

Looked again and the article says both. Weird.

Agreed. This is the kind of nonsense that drives a deeper division between people on either side of the issue. If it was really that important to her, why did she wait until now to do it? It's not like hatred, repression, and violence suddenly cropped up overnight.

The film/video clip siad the woman was from Raleigh. That's what I was quoting.

Indeed a good point. The contemporary left is big on "narratives". They see news not as discrete news items but as "narratives" that need controlling/advancing. They need "formulas" to tell them what to think/feel. That ties in with the "critical theory" (Marxist - but most don't know it) they get in college.

When Muslim terrorists go off the left often ignores them or seeks to protect them. They don't start hollering about the inspiration terrorists get from Koran or Hadith. Indeed they make sure the terrorists have these items in prison.

Now one guy with a southern culture flag commits a crime, and he is used in the narrative that tries to defame all conservatives, southerners (and I'm not one) as belonging to the KKK (and the killer said "there is no KKK" actually active). Modern Libs are big on hate objects so they can feel superior. Its a compensation since in reality many acrually feel inferior (a result of being emotional and resenting things - libs are emotional thinkers - a reason womenare mostly Dems).

Not having a strong inner connection to conscience many take their cues from authority sources (media, John Stewart, Obama, academics etc). Last week the authorities weren't focused on the flag and nobody was raging. Now they have used the flag as a trigger and the psychotics have glomed on.

The same thing happened with football. One week writers were fine with football. Then Obama says football is too dangerous for sons (but he wants to put daughters in combat) and suddenly all these writers start confessing they "didn't realize" how bad football actually was and they apologize for being "part fo the problem"

Concerning flags...its very that interesting the Southern Poverty Law Center put up a graphic this week showing the southern flag going down and and gay flag going up. They obvioulsy saw that as a "redemptive" thing when its really one flag considered "rebellious" being replaced by another flag that has become rebellious.

Exactly what the media wants. that flag has not been an issue for years in SC until they jumped on what that coward did in Charleston.

Piece after piece keeps saying it was ON the State House when it was taken down off there in 2000. Go figure.

they're from charlotte...local news even pinpointed their "group" being from charlotte.

either way, 3 years in prison ain't worth that unless my family's life is at stake...let the lawmakers of sc settle this and if they wanna look ridiculous, let them do so.

that was the compromise which was hurriedly passed, along with every other piece of legislation in the state without full debate...that "compromise" has cost this state millions, the least of which not allowing some athletic events to be held here...again, more examples of non-forwarding thinking people in power.
