1. JP Tokoto's shot selection. I don't dislike the 2 foot jumpers he takes. He actually hits a lot of them when he is open.

What I dislike is when he has a wide open three. Takes 3 dribbles inside of the arc at the defender. Then takes a contested 2 pointer.

I don't understand the thinking behind it and can only think he is coached to do that.

2. Substitutions in regards to flow.

I think the rotation should be tighter. I think we substitute too much which doesn't let our players get into a flow.

A prime example is Joel Berry. He plays so infrequently and at disjointed times with totally different lineups all the time that he can never get into a flow. That is just not optimal for any player.

Tell me what you think.

ball handling errors-that led to fast break points-Paige made a couple and the defense wasn't smothering..JP was liability-refusing to shoot the open shot then dribbling closer-no spacing for effective post pass..a team with 3 passers and 1 effective interior scorer-Brice..halfcourt O needs tweaking

Who in their right mind wants JP Tokoto shooting the 3 ball? THERE IS A FREAKING REASON THAT HE IS WIDE OPEN!!!!!

Attack the rim, pass the ball and play defense. THAT's IT JP! I don't care if he's the only player on the court, if he takes a jumper send him to the locker room!

Agree on both JP and Berry. JP can make the wide open three and should be taking them if he's going to have the ball so much on the perimeter. With Berry, he's been much better when he gets into a flow with some minutes. I think this season hinged on the decision to play Paige at point rather than letting Berry take the reins and learn on the job. If he didn't get it we weren't going to be good enough for a deep run anyway. Maybe it's easier to see in hindsight. Maybe Roy thought the better bet was that Jackson would blossom into te second consistent shooter. I'm not sure how good we would've been with a healthy Marcus all year playing point either.

Until his percentage is actually under 30% from 3 I want him to shoot it all day every day. He is at like 34% which is plenty fine.

Given the shooting options, I'm fine with JP taking an open three IF the ball has been worked around and we're under 15 seconds on the shot clock.

I personally would like to see more sets run for Britt to get a few outside shots ... especially in the 1st half. If he hits then the defense will have to respect that a bit and will ease some of the pressure on Paige.

Watch Pre-Game warm ups, I've watched JP swish 3 ball after 3 ball from all angles on multiple occasions. It's got to be a mental thing with him, given some of his free throws, it's definitely got to be mental...that being said I would really love to see him attack the rim, posterize defender, make defender question his abiliy to play DI college bball, draw foul, make free throw.

I have this sinking feeling JP is going to play his career at UNC like this... then go into the NBA Draft process, get drafted, and be everything we keep wondering why he wasn't here. Hitting 3s. Posterizing people. Etc.

*sigh*

Is this a joke? JP will be drafted, never mind being in danger of never playing in the league. And that's something I'm willing to back, if you care to make some sort of an internet compatable wager.

Laugh all you want, but Tokoto is a consistent jump shot away from being a Lottery pick.

I'll add to this that even without a consistent shot he could have a long career as a slasher, finisher, and defensive specialist. If he cuts down on turnovers he could help most any team even at his current level as a shooter, which isn't nearly as bad as some make out.

I completely agree with #2, and think that has hurt us on several occasions this year, including last saturday's loss to Dook!

I also agree with #1, but don't believe that it's just JP taking bad shots and making bad decisions at times, but rather believe that it is a team-wide problem, which relates to team-discipline in the half court.....There are just some shots that should NOT be attempted, and you could watch film of every game this season, and see shots taken by different players that have virtually NO chance of going in, especially in those games that we lost.....

I know it's hard to be selective with your shot when your whole offensive scheme is based on running the floor and scoring, but you've got to be able to get a high percentage shot in the half court setting, and it seems at times that we aren't patient enough to make that happen?.....It is a problem that we see game-in and game-out with our guys making more of those shots when we win while missing more of those shots when we lose.....Lately, it's been more of the latter unfortunately....

#3....Why has Kennedy Meeks and our other players NEVER learned how to use a ball or head fake when faced against bigger opponents under the basket?.....It has always bothered me to see shorter opponents blocking our post player's shot, but it bothers me even more to see NO ball or head fakes from our interior players.....Remember this was never a problem back in the day because our Bigs always went out to California for a summer camp during the offseason to learn how to score in the low post, and how to get better position....Seems to be a lost art at Carolina now for some reason?

Post play as a whole is a dying art. Teams would rather slash and Chuck threes than score in the post.
