RHP Tyler Baum Will Start Game 1 (UNCW-UNC Regional Game Thread - Resuming at 8:50 pm)

Really need to get off to a fast start and win this first game. UNC-W is on a bit of a roll, but then so are we. The ACCT showed our guys how good we can be if we limit our errors and pitch well.

Like a Broken Record – After setting the program record with 541 strikeouts last year, UNCW pitchers have combined to eclipse that mark by notching 543 strikeouts through 61 games this season. Prior to last season, the Seahawks had never reached the 500-strikeout mark in a single year.

Back on Track – One could argue that the Seahawks are playing their best baseball right now and the facts are certainly there to back it up. UNCW has won six of its last seven games after going through a stretch of dropping 12 of 18 contests from Apr. 14-May 16.

Interesting change for Mike Fox, he has Michael Busch in leadoff spot in order to get him likely more opportunities as he is coming off a stellar ACC Tournament. Busch and Sabato In Top 2 as your teams best hitters should be interesting off the top. Dylan Harris who was the leadoff hitter is down to the 7 spot they should add some depth to the lineup and spread things out.

Zarion Sharpe will toe the rubber for the Seahawks and immediately will face UNC big bopper Michael Busch who is fresh off the acc tournament MVP.

Busch came in stacking early.

Baum with a walk, to put runners on the corners but now the double play could be in order for the 9th hotter in the Seahawks lineup.

Mound visit for Robert Woodard.

UNCW tried to manufacture a run and come home on the safety squeeze but nice heads up play there by Baum to get the fielders choice out at home. Seahawks leadoff hitter Greg Jones is up with two on and two outs in T2

Dallas Tessar is flat out seeing the ball really well. He has more hits, RBIs and now HRs since postseason play the past 5 games than he had in the previous 54 games. #UNC The Heels lead 3-0 T3
