Tar Heels Up to No. 9 in AP Poll

None of 4-thru-8 should be ahead of us, and we hung a C-note on #4.
- Iowa State doesn't have a bad loss since December
- Kansas dominated the #1 ranked team in the country so that will usually give them more leeway
- Arizona went undefeated between Jan 27 - Feb 17. Those are arbitrary dates, but's also the time range UNC lost 3 games so not a surprise that Arizona lept in front of UNC with that in mind.
- Marquette has only lost to UConn since January 17

The polls are seldom about the strength of the schedule. It's generally about the teams that lost most recently will fall. The teams that won most recently will hold or go up in rankings.

Arizona not beating anyone is telling. But when UNC loses 3x during the same stretch Arizona doesn't lose a game, what's going to happen? UNC will fall. Especially if none of those losses were to ranked teams.

I do not have a problem with the ranking. We were playing great but then had a VERY bad 3-3 stretch where the defense really dropped and we became too reliant on RJ for offense as no one else was consistent. Right now I just want to secure a seed in Charlotte for the first two (hopefully) rounds. Gain some momentum and see what happens. UNC has shown they can play with anyone in the nation but they could also lose in the second round.
