Tonight's game may give us the answer. OK St has shot better and better from deep with each game, peaking at 60% yesterday.

At the same time, they let UConn shoot 50% from deep, so maybe that will work for us.

The ESPN2 folks were billing this as a great point guard matchup.

We know how good Joel is, but Evans is pretty impressive, too. So far this year, he has 25 assists against 7 TOs, sports a 136.3 ORtg and makes 6.9 steals per game!

The PG matchup will go a long ways toward determining the winner of this game. OSU loves to bring full court pressure and force TO's, we will need to be strong with the ball and look to make them pay by beating the press with the pass and shooting layups. Also, rebounding will be crucial.

It should be high scoring for sure. They have a bunch of guys who will shoot threes.

Gonna be fun, they want to run and press--I expect Meeks and Hicks to set up shop on the boards and Bradley running the middle when he's in..JJ will have alot of looks tonight too! Go Heels!

Looking forward to seeing how UNC plays in a track meet, and how they are able to control both the offensive and defensive tempo and transition. Also be interesting to see how coach uses his bench if it turns into a run and fun game.
Should be a fun game to watch (or dvr and watch later :) )

Questions answered!

Evans was impressive. And ESPN2 was right about it being a great PG matchup. But Berry is a multidimensional player and Evans isn't. Any team would be happy to have Evans but from what we saw, you give the keys to Joel.

To be fair, we have a much better balanced team than OK State.

We knew Evans was a dribble drive guy and he got his but, um, 5 guys in double figures can win against a one dimensional team. Kid is good but contributions from his mates were limited. When JBII gets "that" look in his eyes, it is going to get even tougher to play against him and our team. Boy this Heels team is fun.
Where are all the "we haven't played anyone" and the "talk about the Heels when we beat a quality opponent" people? Stop Hayes and Koenig tonight and we win again, easily.
We have had some good seasons when we return from Maui with a trophy. :D

Evans got his points, but had to gun a whole heap of shots to get them. JB forced him to totally discard any semblance of team play just to get his points. The mano-a-mano thing works against our opponents since JB is too savvy to ever forget our offensive strategy! He will just get in your face and dare you to do anything about it. When you try, you lose offensive efficiency; it's beautiful!
