I am with you.
Who is on the floor at pg doesn't matter nearly as much to me, as NOT having them both on the floor together .
I think Hubert has made this adjustment in the last few games and the scores have reflected that.
There will be people from both camps saying EC needs more minutes or that R.J needs more min.
I am in the camp that them playing together should be limited like this going forward and Ian should play 25 plus min per game.

IT was that before every game he commented on Hubert did a deep dive in to both teams, was very good at spotting things that were key to the performance of those teams, the very same trait you want breaking down game film of how your team last played as well as your next opponent. But some where along the way Hubert seemed from how he now coaches to have developed some strange notions, like playing 5 out, position-less, letting a cold shooter keep shooting so he "maybe" heats up at the end?

No doubt man, and that what’s frustrating with HD. He’s done the scouting before and seen Roy implement those things. I guess that’s why I think he can be good at what he used to do but not relate it to the coaching side of the equation. And let’s be clear, I’m not in the majority on this either, I know, BUT I don’t mind the 5 out, I don’t mind everyone on the whole dang team being position less, and I don’t even mind a cold shooter trying to heat up. What I do mind is PLEASE for the love of all things sports, it has to work!!! I can’t type that any louder lol. I honestly don’t care who plays where or if my point guard even looks remotely what others think a pg should look like. You know what cures all angst? Winning. You win and that all of a sudden cures bellyaching, loudmouths fanatics , critics, parents, and everyone else who has an opinion. Win. That’s it. It’s amazing to me. Nobody will ever complain if you win. You’ll have an occasional person who may would like it done a little different. But I promise you the more you win the less they will roar their head too.

Hubert was a tv analyst but what made him good at it? And even if he was good, that definitely doesn’t make him coaching material. Great man and perfect mentor for a lot of these young men but not a head coach for UNC. Just for the record, I believe that’s the first time I’ve said that, for whatever that’s worth lol. Nothing

Our guys have looked more engaged and comfortable the last three games. Part of that may be playing bad teams but I attribute some to guys playing their more natural positions where their chances for success increase significantly. I was about to tap out a reply to bama and glad I read your and jimmy's replies before I did, saved me some typing! You are exactly right, you do not need or even want your 5 best players to start, you want your 5 most effective players to start, you stated it really well!

Jimmy is just as on target, Roy in my opinion was not a great coach, made a lot of decisions that made me scratch my head. But Roy Williams knew talent when he saw it, knew how to put that talent in position to max what that player could do and shielded him away from his weaker areas. IN simple terms that you use archer, Roy didn't try to hammer those square pegs in to round holes.

Roy realized one thing, that basketball is most of ten a game won or lost due to the matchups of individual players. He realized, a 6'3" kid has little chance of defend a 6'9" kid that has 40lbs on him deep in the paint, that the team that had the size mismatch begins the game with an advantage and Roy maintained that advantage, Roy realized the notion of "position-less" ball in college is a myth, a thing that Hubert still does not understand. My gosh, Hubert was touting his "position-less" nonsense again last night in his post game PC? An individual player may be able to play multiple positions, Drake is a great example of that but at the 4 Drake is simply over matched to often with size.

Got to get this off my chest right now, we were on the verge of blowing this game out, until the refs decided they needed a closer game and robbed, yes robbed the Heels of their momentum. That T on JWash, he was simply trying to spread out and the defender held his head in such a way that Jalen could not avoid him. Apparently it is totally fine to head butt a player, as RJ was head butted, but don't try to spread out when your defender decides to tuck his head in to your body? That T on JWit, so the other teams bench can say or motion in any way they want but JWit was not allowed to say something back to them? No warning, just blow the whistle? IN a physical game that the refs allowed, emotions get ramped up and I could live with the Ts if we got the pay back calls on our end, that didn't happen. I saw and heard the arguments from the commentators, I strongly disagree with them.

Amazing what happens when you try to match up size as best you can, when you do not have to begin every game in a hole due to being so small. I do strongly believe that our back court needs to get bigger and the way to do that is starting Jack at the 2 and either Cadeau or RJ start at the point while the other comes off the bench. I have said several times, I don't really care which one starts and which one doesn't and I don't care which one is which.

Back to back big time games from JWit, I don't know how long he can keep this up but gosh darn it has been huge for us these last 2 games. Cappy Jack, when that kid can see his shot drop you can see the confidence grow in his face and he seems able to carry it from 1 half to the next. He relies a bit to much for my confidence on that step back trey from deep corner but when he hits one he hits more. Still like to see him hunt the big men out in space for those drives and maybe work some 2 man game when he does. And talk about a 2 man game, Cadeau executed a wonderful opps to Lubin, had to re-watch that a couple times. Lubin sets the screen and rolls for the sweet opps from Cadeau, work of art!

we had another coach at carolina who was a nice fellow, great relationship skills for successful recruiting. but, by his own admission not a good tactician, didn't even call timeouts because he didn't really have anything to say. but he was successful, even a hall of famer because he put great talent on the floor. maybe hubert is like his mentor roy. hubert will get at least one more year, so we'll see.

Because his his son took bribes from them for the biden crime family. He pardoned his son to cover up the numerous felonies for taking foreign bribes from russia, china, ukraine and other places totaling $22M and not paying taxes on them.

RJ has been one of my favorite players for the last 5 seasons. I think I was the first person on this board to advocate that we should recruit him. I preface my question with those observation because this is not an attack on RJ. With that preface, here's my question: Do we really need Elliot and RJ on the floor together so much?

Elliot no longer needs training wheels. And RJ's shot continues to suffer (I thought he was finally back a couple of weeks ago, but apparently I was wrong).

Yesterday's lineup worked quite well. But I suspect it would have been even more convincing if Hubert gave Elliot and Ian a couple of RJ's minutes each. Just a few, not a lot.

No way to run the counter factual but I will always believe this team would have been better by March without RJ returning. That said, yes the ball being in his hands so much will be their downfall when they regress to the mean shooting 3s and/or play decent teams. RJ is a great scorer for his size and plays as hard as anyone but he is in no way a PG, way to often stopping a break by himself, missing easy scoring plays for others inside (rewatch his best dump off yesterday and it took 3 beats too long) and dribbling the air out of possessions. The self inflicted stagnant stretches have kept and will continue to keep this team from winning tight games against plus competition.
