Quick stuff (BC game)...

Just my quick take ..

A couple games ago I made a comment about how much better and more active we looked on defense .. so much for that.

We let BC shoot 60% from three.

We let a team that averages less than 70 a game drop 90 on us at home.

Vegas had us as 20pt favs @home and we had to scratch and claw to get in to OT.

I have no fng clue what hubcap is thinking starting the line up he did ... what was he trying to accomplish @gary-7 ?

After watching this ish show today I think we could easily lose the next 4 games by double digits.
I'll leave the rest and take a stab at the lineup: I imagine it was because BC is physical but not "long". And starting Lubin vs their thick Bigs spared Wash foul trouble.

In tbose senses it worked, as we outboarded the by 13, and Wash was around for 18, 6 and 3.

Which of the Carolina players is the leader of team?

I think about that a lot because no one in my opinion this season has actually stepped up verbally and held other teammates and themselves accountable.

It only seems logically that Davis and withers being 5 year players would step up and lead by example but that has not been the case. Coach Davis during an interview last week said this is the quietest squad he has ever been around.

Last season the transfer theguard from Notre Dame was unquestionably the leader in the Locker Room and on the court and many teammates spoke of his leadership qualities but this season there has been no fire and brimstone from anyone.

Some may remember a couple of years ago when the team like this years squad was underperforming Bacot went off in the locker room on his teammates saying “if you don’t want to be here don’t show up”. Several of his teammates got offended and decided in the off season to transfer out instead of trying harder to improve.

Many would say it is Coach Davis’s job to raise Hell to try and motivate the team but I say it is the entire team’s responsibility to hold each other to a higher standard. Someone needs to light a fire even if it is a underclass and have a player’s only meeting so everyone knows their job and the goals of the team.

Do you agree or disagree that a player needs to emerge as the leader not just on the court but also in the locker room…

Quick stuff (BC game)...

Excellent eyeballs and a strong enough ticker to post your analysis, G-7.
We have lots of issues, but here’s the thing:
When a team makes threes like that, it’s gonna be a struggle.
When a center backs down a center to the hole with no double team challenge, then throws the hook
move to score at will, you’re gonna struggle.
And so we did. But in crunch time, several guys made tough plays to scrap for a win.
I will take the W and happily slap fives with any Carolina player coming through the tunnel to
the locker room. GDTBATH 🏀⛹🏾‍♂️ 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

tbh g .. I don't know. I do know that fair weather fans aren't likely to support mediocre teams and performances. By the same token I also believe sports in general are taking a back seat to other priorities in folks lives. I also think the traditional UNC fans are not happy with the product HD has, or is putting, on the floor and the ish show we saw today against a 1-7 conference team at our place was surely not a confidence builder in the direction this years bball team (if you can call it that) is going. We were 20pt favs at home and went to overtime and were damn lucky to get there. You tell me ..
i’d love to argue “but it’s the brand”, but i just can’t anymore…if i’m making a decision on him getting the best out the roster, he’s lost that fight…that’s what they’re supposed to do, maximize the roster, right?

just for a clearer picture, i might re-watch the kansas and mich st games this week.

I can only imagine that we will get stomped over the next four or five games. I hope not, but it seems likely. We're all disappointed as it is. Two weeks from now we may not care at all. The potential for an extremely athletic team next year is there. I hope that pans out. So I'm gonna grab a beer, hope we beat Pitt, dook and clempson and cross my fingers for the future. Go Heels!

so, do you believe a large majority of the fanbase is hoping to miss the tournament in order to get a change or make the tournament because “we must make the tournament”?
