stackhouse shouldn’t even be on the list. i’d hope the powers that be won’t make the same mistake twice by force feeding a unc alum down our throat with far superior options out there.
Yes, that is my concern as well, why should UNC limit it's list of candidates to just former UNC players? I want the best head coach for UNC not necessarily the best former UNC player that happens to now be a coach.

OOTB's Political Thread . ..

It can happen. CA can flip red. Besides people like this, a lot of Hispanics are changing how they vote and don't like the woke stuff. Nor illegal immigration and the gangs that come with that. They make up 40% of California's population, albeit don't vote at 40% of votes generally.

The GOP ought to make a real effort the next few election cycles. If you get a majority of Hispanics, which imo is entirely doable, and peel off dissatisfied liberals/dems, it can turn red and have a major impact on the rest of the nation as far as the balance of political power.
Would be hilarious karma if the Dem policies on (largely Latino) immigration, which they intended as future voters for the Dem party, end up leading to a bolus of Latino voters voting Republican because they hate the woke shit the Dems stand for.

Quick stuff (Cal game)...

I'm gonna use this for a general reply.

First, congrats to everyone ITT so far for a thoughtful discussion, because trust me, I was ready to put an end to these "stuff" threads after the last one.

As to the Tyson question, there are some different takes here. Now, I completely and respectfully disagree with some posters (for example, @DSouthr) as to Cade's abilities, but ultimately it is an "academic question". For those who aren't familiar with that term, an academic question is one we can't really answer because it hasn't actually happened --- and that pretty much describes Cade's season, no?. Personally, I want to see what he can do.

But with all that notwithstanding, I just want folks here to understand that this team is, in fact, progressing defensively. Now, I may not be 100% on board with Hubert's approach on that end, but the team IS objectively getting way better in executing what they are being asked to do.

The question remaining is, thus, where are we OFFENSIVELY?

As a buddy (and current coach) texted me after the Cal game, "just think if RJ was converting even his normal percentage of only the dimes Eliot is giving him --- these games wouldn't be close." And ya know what? He was right.

So, think about it --- imagine a scenario where Ian is still doing what he's doing, and RJ is back on track, with EC running the show... Yeah, just wow at the potential fire-power, and then add the other guys into the mix. I believe in RJ --- he's simply too good to remain in this shooting slump --- and if he "gets well", well, watch out...
Late to the party, but count me as one of the ones that would be sad to see an end to the "stuff" threads. So thanks for taking the time to write-up each post game analysis. I'm cautiously optimistic after the last few weeks, but would really love if this team could start hitting on even just a majority of all cylinders by the end of the month when things get real again. Here's hoping.

I think if Jerry Stackhouse played for Washington and had the exact same basketball career and timeline that he’s had, you wouldn’t have mentioned his candidacy on this thread.

In fact, if he didn’t play for UNC and had the same career and timeline after college and he were mentioned as a candidate for UNC’s HC position… Would you criticize his candidacy? I think almost everyone would. Or they would at least be like “that’s weird. Why him?”

So while I’m sure his UNC connection isn’t the only factor, I think it’s clearly a factor and probably a significant one.

If he would he a genuine candidate without any UNC ties, it’s kind of a random candidate.

No one hates Jerry. I do however hate how you have absolutely nothing at all to back up the claims you have made in this thread. You're just throwing out absolute nonsense.

For Pete's sake... "That means BI Jr is just about ready!" Ingram has one son, who isn't even 6 years old. Ingram barely even dated the mom (who has a child with another NBA player.) This is what your argument for Stackhouse has devolved into??? A child Brandon Ingram barely sees, and Stackhouse "knows people that knows people." That's why Stackhouse should be UNC's coach?

You're either high off your ass, or this whole thread was a troll job.
Oh calm down DaveChapelle of course BI’s son is not ready to play ball! damn! My whole point is that Stack has both conventional and non conventional connections that he can tap into. Like it or not Stack is in a circle of nba friends that most coaches only dream about and yes that includes the aau circut.

BI is a badd farther bs was so not call for…and honestly none of my business bruh. But since you appear to have it all on lockdown your circle of nba friends has to be light years ahead of JS.

Can JS coach? Yes! Does he have the credentials and is he qualified? Yes!! I’m rooting for HD, and will be happily watching the game today. But if HD flams out I’m with JS.

Stackhouse

“He’ll never be UNC’s coach!”

WOW that’s such a strong statement you make for Jerry Stackhouse. It would’ve been best if you had just said it from the gettiup though. I truly don’t understand why so much hate for JS. Why people choose to equate his passion for basketball to ‘punching’ opposed to him being a professional like everyone else is beyond me.

Yes I meant BI, and so what it was 10years ago? That means BI Jr is just about ready! Stack AAU linkage is real my man…he knows people that knows people. I’ll much rather have that in my toolbox than not. Just saying!
