Why some people can’t understand that the only fair way to judge people’s actions is by the social mores of the time in which they lived is beyond me. It seems so self evident.
it IS self-evident. But that self-evidence could be an obstacle to a good virtue-signal. Virtue signals are about the signaler, not the signal. Virtue-signalers seem to resent the truth when it gets in the way.
