Poverty and poor are completely different... It's like illness. Illness means suffering. You've got this prejudice that people who you believe are confused are actually suffering. That it's "bad" to be these things. The suffering implication only exists from the belief that it should be considered some kind of affliction. Homosexuals even co-opted the word GAY as a term of reference. Gay is the opposite of suffering. Your whole world view is a rigid ideology , and vernacular, that disparages women, feminity, anything that isn't white, Christian masculine in some archaic-traditional sense.

You have also shown that you don't really care about the "misfortune" of the poor or impoverished if they color outside the lines of your world view.

I tried to watch. Netflix kept kicking me out. Hope they made a ton of money because the next big streaming "event" they have people may pass due to the issues. Imagine having friends over and not being able to watch? Regardless, sounds like I didn't miss that much and I'm glad the wife and I just went to bed. Saw this and thought I'd link it so people could remember what boxing could be.

So, let's start right there: As usual, EC made passes that had me saying that phrase yet. again, but more importantly, we are at a vital Step 1 of long-term success, as this has become Eliot's team. Now, we have to watch the parts mesh. OK, how about what else I wanted to see?

- Tyson getting more run to find a rhythm and role: At least a partial check there

- Converting more cleanly in transition: Much improved

- RJ finding his stroke: Still struggling there, but all he needs is to go off on one of his scoring benders and I suspect the mojo will return --- hopefully that happens in Hawaii.

- Fixing the Secondary --- ok, let's explore that:
There has been a maddening missing element that has effectively killed our trademark Secondary -- not utilizing the dive post. Finally, in the second half it returned (albeit clunkily at first) with predictable results. Check out the video below.
We are still in Secondary action and Withers finds himself almost in the right place but standing around in the "short corner". EC finally directs him to flash for a medium post, and with no help coming, it's easy pickin's:

We successfully used this option a couple more times in the second half, and I can only hope it wasn't by accident, as it should be the norm (!!!). Honestly, just surrounding a retreating defense (especially when we're playing two Bigs) is, well, tits on a boar-hog. The dive is Dean's option #1 and stresses the defense by just being there.

Finally, a few more things:
- Great night for JWash.
- EC and Seth are holy terrors on defense out front --- would sure like to see them in actual Scrambles
- Constant "wows' at Powell's athleticism
- 64 pts in the second half --- yeah, that's more like it

Anyway, as usual EC got jacked out of an Assist by our stat guy, but his line was outstanding nonethelss, and it was a joy to watch our transition game operating. Got a gauntlet coming up and we'll need all hands on deck!... :cool:

Interesting to note that in this game thread I never saw mention of Drake Powell and he had a great game. This team is also shooting great from the FT line this season (so far) and that will help bigly in a lot of games. Good to see Cade splash a couple tre's. Did I mention Drake Powell is a stud !! Drake, Seth and EC on the floor together is something I could really get used to seeing !!

Women's Basketball

Watched the game tonight against UCONN and UNC women's team. Incredible game which was played in Greensboro. Unfortunately they lost to the number 2 team in the country, failing 69 to 58. Carolina went over 5 minutes in the 4th quarter without scoring. What was amazing about this team is they play tremendous defense, and they played most of the game with their young players on the court. Ustby and Donarski were basically a non factor, neither one played to their potentials. But one thing worth noting is Carolina has a lot of young talent on this team, and the future is bright. This Carolina team will be a tough out for anyone going forward, not only in the ACC but the NCAA tournament.
