AAU saved its best for last as the final classic of the travel ball circuit kicked off today in North Augusta, S.C.

Our guy Drake Powell and TEAM CP3 is currently leading by double digits at the half. The 2024 UNC recruit had a monster 1st half(14 and 9) while knocking down 3 triples.

Here's what our experienced guys scored last season - translated into numbers for the coming year, along with penciled-in numbers for the freshmen in the projected and adjusted columns.

I arbitrarily capped 2023-24 MPG at 28 minutes for our 5 starters and held Withers to his last year number - leaving 35 minutes for the other 5 guys.

Obviously the idea that these players will score at the same rate as they did last year is suspect, but you have to start somewhere.

The PT numbers are also suspect. Will Hubert abandon the iron man approach? And, of course, most of us want to see more PT for some players - but whose minutes do they take?

Of course, if the Tar Heels lay another bad egg, ala the 4 game losing streak, this kind of article will be Mack's proof that the media intentionally overrated the Tar Heels just to lay a curse on his unquestionably brilliant work.

It may sound a little crazy but the last couple of years both Baylor and Miami have been very Very successful running that type of offense. That offense was so good for Miami that they got to the championship game last season and Baylor was a number one seed in their region until Carolina on their great run to the championship bumped them out in overtime a couple of years ago.

I am not sure UNC has enough proven outside shooters right now to go to that type of offense but it is definitely something to consider and it has worked in n Miami and Waco…

Has anyone on this board heard about this player reclassifing to the 23 class!

Of the teams on this list, UNC probably has the lowest chance at making the playoff. However, the Tar Heels have one big asset that could make the difference. That would be superstar quarterback Drake Maye. It’s going to come down to if Maye can carry this team to the playoff. He is truly that good, one of the best quarterbacks in college football.
