Cadeau

Let me start by saying..Hubert has handled this guy extremely well. I complained about him not starting but then realized that it took early pressure off of him. I also though Hubert would stick with Woczyk longer. I am also confident in Woczyk in bind.

Cadeau has lived up to my expectations so far but that is great for a freshman. His biggest mistakes are foul-related and equally defense related. On offense his shot looks good and it fall more often but his passing and vision are phenomenal!!!

Barring a late season run and hype he should be back next year. I also expect him to make huge jump for his sophomore year!

Right now I just enjoy watching him play.

Louisville vs UNC game thread for Wednesday 17 January 2024…

Many including myself felt the last game against Syracuse had the earmarks of a trap game after Carolina’s three game sweep on the road against: Pittsburgh, Clemson and NC State but the Tar Heels destroyed Syracuse and made a statement in the game.

Now rated three in one poll and fourth in another poll and playing the last place Louisville Cardinals who have only won once in the ACC ( a upset of Miami in Miami) everything on paper points to another Carolina pounding of a opponent which includes biscuits but again more than the Syracuse contest this game has all of the looks of a trap game…

My hope is like the last game the Tar Heels jump on the Cardinals early and don’t let up so that the bench gets plenty of playing time and work again letting the starters to get plenty of rest to get their second breath just in case they are needed late. Also playing the bench will hopefully will prevent any unnecessary injuries to the top eight players….

Also it would be nice to see Ingram and Ryan get more than 10 points apiece and for Cadeau to continue to drive to the hole and either score, get fouled or drop a dime to Bacot for a dunk…

Just take care of business and don’t let the cellar dwellers think they can win in our house…

Is a top seed possible?

UNC has been playing well and I would love to see them in Charlotte for the NCAA but I do not think that is realistic due to the conference. The ACC teams have a NET ranking of 78, that is an average. Right now the only home quad 1 game is dook and there are only six quad 1 road opportunities.

That is just sad if you are old enough to remember when ACC would routinely have multiple top 2 seeds and be well represented in sweet 16. So far the conference has 15 quad 1 wins and UNC has 4 (over a quarter) of those. It looks like there are very few chances to get a good win but so many chances for a bad loss. Louisville would now be a quad 4 win playing in Chapel Hill.

I have seen parts of a few non-UNC games and they have just been bad basketball (with officiating that is embarrassing).
