I saw a different defense last night. As AJ said in his summary, the team got its dignity back, something that they had lost the last 4 games. Sure there were missed tackles and the DBs (inexperienced for the most part) need to turn to look at the ball. But the Oregon offense is potent and iirc they said Nix had only been sacked 4 times during the year. We've all seen a team turn around when a cancer departs (Drew, Garcia). I saw that last night. My guess is that it was Grimes on defense, perhaps also another.

It should matter to Mack and Gene Chizik. Can't be giving Coaches passes with this much experience.

There are many coaches out there who had the same or worse situations with their teams. Duke prime example Georgia tech. there are a lot of examples of coaches elevating their teams with less. There has got to be some accountability for Mack and Chizik. Even Mack's press conference was tone deaf. This should be an audition to keep a job for Chizik. I know a lot of people don't like this. I like Mack to but, well I'll just save this. I made my opinion known throughout the year. But look at the bowl games. Oregon is very tough game but it's your bowl game. if your bowl game is unfair, you probably in the wrong business.

They are under achieving as a tandem. If you watched Duke, Louisville, in the bowl games? You can make all the excuses you want. Coaching matters. A lot of coaches are making it happen all over the country.

This is a judgment game whether some people like it or not. If you listen to Mack's press conference, you should be concerned his priorities and vision is off to say it mildly. He's a Great man and recruiter for a Roy Williams position. Not calling for his firing. Just the reality of the state of UNC football.

Man those stories coming out of Buffalo and other places about people freezing to death are gut wrenching. Can’t imagine your daughter trapped in her car for a day, rescue unable to get to her. able to talk to her on the phone only to basically listen to her die. People getting lost and dying literally steps from their door. Freezing to death in their homes even.

For whatever reason, an ad shows up on my FB page for some masterclass starring the Rat. He recounts the UNC game at Dook last year and says that he was "hurt" that the team didn't win for him. Later he says he realized that he'd forgotten it was about us and wasn't "fair" to the team and that he had let them down.

Go figure. Everyone else knew it was always about him.

We’re not Alabama, USC, Texas, Michigan or any of the blue blood football programs. So why is it so hard for the fan base to accept small victories and realize that it took Mack 7 years to win at Texas. It’s a long process, it took Harbaugh 7 years to get Michigan rolling, Saban is a special coach in a football centric state. The reality is to compare to the Mack Brown run at Texas, Sam is our Major Applewhite, Drake is our Chris Simms, the next hurdle is finding our Vince Young and Colt McCoy along with building a good defense and special teams

Players like RJ Davis has to come back from White Plains, NY, D’Marco Dunn coming from Phoenix, Puff from Moon Township, Pa, Pete Nance from Akron, Ohio, Caleb Love from St Louis, Mo, Jalen Washington calls home Gary, In, Seth Trimble MenoMonee Falls, Wisc, Will Shaver, Birmingham, Al…-I think everyone else are from Virginia or North Carolina..:There is a practice scheduled tonight and many flights have already been delayed and cancelled so the challenge is on.

The players like Nance, Dunn, Washington and Trimble who might have connecting flights out of Chicago probably will face the biggest obstacles.

Any resident recruiting experts know who our highest ranked PG coming out of high school was? I’m sure we’ve had #1 overall point guards before, but any clue what/who the highest national ranking was?
