Wouldn't have to run the table and go unbeaten. One from the ACC will make the playoffs definitely by being the conference champion. Same for the Big 12.

Per the rules, they have to take the conference champion. Even if it was a 7-5 WF team, they have to be included.

This long played con game by Disney/ESPN, Fox, SEC, and BT is about those two leagues controlling almost 100% of the 1A football post-season money. Essentially, they expect this plan to mean that every year at least 8 of the playoff teams will be from those 2 leagues. Bowls will be whittled down, and only the 2 to maybe 4 most important (each of which will feature at least 1 from SEC and BT) will pay anything worth having.
