I like hearing Wes calling ACC games. Just feels right.

You talk a lot of shit about a state whose flagship university you attended.Greensboro is what makes North Carolina great?![]()
Yeah, sure. And Raleigh, Charlotte, Washington, Kitty Hawk, Thomasville, Asheville ...Greensboro is what makes North Carolina great?![]()

Who exactly has ever denied that there's a wide world outside Small Town, NC that has its own set of benefits? Just curious. That was a legitimate question. The only way to interpret that was that Greensboro is what makes NC great, which is something I'd disagree with.
I'm not talking shit about the state at all (please correct me if I'm wrong). In discussions like these I may play devil's advocate in an attempt to try to get some poasters to realize that there's a whole wide world outside of Small Town, NC that might be beneficial for many reasons as well.

Boeheim's comment about Greensboro was dickish. Is there anything wrong with having a little fun poking back at him?
You know I'm usually just messing with you, even if sometimes I'm more serious. That was a legitimate question. The only way to interpret that was that Greensboro is what makes NC great, which is something I'd disagree with.
Who hurt you? When you imply that Greensboro is what makes NC great, then ya.
Remember, Jimmy B didn't include Charlotte in his approved list either. He said Atlanta, D.C., NYC
We were just waiting on you to start a thread about the greatness of big city living. No one. Not many have advocated that either though.
Boeheim said there's no value in playing in Greensboro, ever. That's what people are picking on and clapping back at.I think Charlotte and Greensboro (maybe even Raleigh) should be in the rotation as well. It keeps it fun when you mix up the locales and don't stick in a (less than ideal) place just for tradition's sake.

I don't think they could play in Raleigh, as its moo's home court. Of course that didn't stop the wolpfack from snagging half their ACCT titles in Reynolds back in the 50's & 60's.I think Charlotte and Greensboro (maybe even Raleigh) should be in the rotation as well. Sounds to me like you agree with us more than you do with him.

Someone explain to me why it should be in New York. I'm not trying to be "anti-North" or anything like that. I love New York City. I've been three times and it's a damn cool city. Maybe the coolest city I've ever been to besides London.NC is dead center of the ACC, and is the headquarters. So while I don't feel that Greensboro should host it predominantly, it certainly should be in the rotation. Along with Charlotte, Atlanta, NY.
So does that make you Roberto or Lt. Dan?

By why on earth should the ACCT be held there? Exactly 3 ACC schools are anywhere close to NYC.
Here's the thing though -- I don't understand how it makes "more" money based on geographical location. The ACCT is probably the most coveted conference tourney from a TV standpoint. ESPN or CBS or whoever will bid top dollar -- within the market of CBB which ain't nearly as much as other sports -- to broadcast the thing, regardless of where it's located.Same reason the Big Ten is having theirs in Washington DC -- literally out of the way for every team not named Maryland. They are just money whores.
Pinter (thanks Google)For anyone whose seen Justified, right now Hark is reminding me of the snitch from Season 1 (his name escapes me at the moment) from Brooklyn. @heelz2345 @grillheel
He cracks me up. Every episode he's in he's talking to local Kentuckians and he's like "I gotta get out of this backwoods town in this backwoods state with all these dumbass, gross, dirty, uneducated, hillbilly bumpkins......................Oh, no offense."
LOL
Yes!Pinter (thanks Google)

Everyone is like "oh man, you gotta put it in New York!" Why though? I'm just looking for tangible evidence that it generates more money there than somewhere else.
You make a good point about NASCAR. It ruined itself trying to go national when it's a regional sport. It won't prosper again until it rediscovers its regional roots and puts races back at Wilkesboro, Rockingham, etc.I don't disagree with you at all, but the ACC execs believe that moving to a major media market will enhance the brand, and ultimately, increased revenues. I personally, as I alluded to yesterday, feel like this is similar to Nascar ditching their core base and going the white collar, clean cut look...now who the hell watches that sport anymore? They change their rules every year trying to re-engage fans and it doesn't work. They went away from what worked, and now they are suffering. When the ACC Tournament moves to Madison Square Garden permanently (which is possible), I hope they realize their mistake when tickets are being scalped out front for $5 (literally). More and more people are cutting the cord and streaming (I do) and the TV revenue IMO simply won't be there. The game has changed.
Good point on the scalping. Having the tourney in Greensboro, Charlotte gets you tons of fans within easy driving distance that can pick up tickets from the Clemson, Syracuse, BC contingent that will bail after their teams inevitably lose in the first round. Hell, even if UNC wasn't in the final, Carolina fans would buy tickets just to pull against dook if they were in it (and vice-versa). If the finals this year are FSU and Louisville, what are the odds that the arena will be sold out?I don't disagree with you at all, but the ACC execs believe that moving to a major media market will enhance the brand, and ultimately, increased revenues. For the most part I like the fact that boeheim speaks his mind even though he's a cantankerous SOB. That being said he needs to GFH on this one.I'd highly suggest not looking at other school's boards to see who they side with on the Boeheim issue lol....
Might be bad for your blood pressure.
