Following the incident where fans were unruly and forced her into tears.

Since, she has been a pretty recognizable figure at Duke with an outpouring of support for her.

Why I said she apparently is enjoying that spotlight is that she is now on the record for having told her son that he should stay at Duke next year instead of going. A complete 180 from her earlier comments about why college is a bad decision for a top NBA player.

I don't know anything about the incident with fans but he isn't coming back.

Also curious about the part about the "fans". That's the first I'm hearing of it.

Did a Google search, looks like Rhode Island fans called her a bitch during the round of 32 and were escorted out after they yelled at each other. Some Duke fans then either switched seats with her or something like that.

Rhode Island fans (all northeast fans) being classless aholes (including NYC fans, Philly/ Nova fans, Boston fans, etc)... #shockedface

At least Boston and NY fans are knowledgeable assholes. Philly fans are just ****ing jerks.

Good for the URI fans telling Ms. Carter what was up (I didn't actually read what they said, don't @ me)

Pfff, coming from a southerner that’s practically a compliment :D

That's what I was thinking too. Would rather have ahole fans than a wine and cheese crowd.

If it was a Unc player mom, would some of y’all have the same comments?

No parent should have to deal with any of that during a game. I’m all down for some friendly trash talk, but don’t be disrespectful.

Mickie K is a bitch, too . .

While Billy's comment is hella out of line, I did think it was weird she inserted race into it some during the interview. Nothing regarding it was really race related as was reported.

Apparently, you and another missed the winkie that I poasted.

Your poast is even further out of line because of that oversight.

Larry Drew's mom was the true bitch . . but, maybe, you didn't read her poasts over on Premi back in the day when she attacked Roy and the entire Tar Heel Nation . .

Live and learn, son . .

Screw that crap . . Larry Drew's mom was a bitch and oh btw, Mickie K is a bitch, too . .

OK, let a Bitch be a Bitch. What that got to do with multiple fans yelling at her doing the game and crossing the line?

Since you name a specific player's mom, if this was Pysco T or Joel Berry Mom would it be ok?

. . those 2 are okay by me, as both are National Title moms.

Sometimes the OOTB regulars forget what board we're poasting on, eh @BillyL? What Billy said might be a bit over the top for this board. But he and I both are used to the Wild West format of our home board - OOTB. Check us out sometime over there if you can stomach it.

As far as Wendall's mom goes, her son is a famous athlete now. She and he need to grow thick skin to live that life. They don't get to have it both ways. The RI fans shouldn't have called her (or anyone for that matter) a bitch. But people are people. And that's life. The best response she could have given was "it's sports, it gets heated." And otherwise, she should try to stay out of the spotlight. But everyone wants a piece of fame.

Lastly, this whole idea that Carter "really is torn about his decision" is 100% bullshit. He'll declare and he was always going to declare. Why? Because he's no more interested in school than the man in the moon. He's milking the attention (and obviously she is too) and attempting to make it seem like he has some kind of investment in education or duke. He doesn't. This kid is a pro baller and has been told he's one since 6th grade. He went to school because he had to. He doesn't "love" duke. He used duke. Just like duke used him. That's what rented mercenary college basketball players are for. Let's not get it twisted. #semesterhood

If he ends up declaring that he'll return, I'll come back to this thread, eat crow and apologize to Wendall and his mom.

She epitomizes hypocrisy. To people like her, everything is about the color of your skin. Never mind the fact that if it weren’t for colleges, her son wouldn’t be worth $30 mil in a couple of months.

Billy called her a bitch ! I got to go a step further and call her a stupid bitch ! Poor son he was a slave at dook ! I guess a year of academic instruction at one of the finest institutes in America and a yr of room and board and any necessary medical treatment and a yr of being on National tv every game is not compensation for the kid. And now a pro contract ! Damn !

I don't understand why people always have to take things to the extreme. Her son made a choice to play college basketball while knowing the NCAA rules and regulations. If she wants to argue that college athletes in major sports don't receive fair compensation, that's fine. It's a rational argument. But to call it slavery is absolutely ridiculous, and doesn't do anything to help the discussion for changing the system.

I will say that 1 year if college didn’t make him worth $30 million.... I wonder if she is really upset because he had to go for 1 year and she could of had the money sooner
