You know....I've never acquired a taste for coffee. I don't know what it is. It smells GREAT to me, but I've just never enjoyed drinking it.

Plus, it gives me the jitters, which is weird because not even energy drinks give me the jitters.

When I was active duty I lived on the stuff. I'm down to 2/3 cups a day now, but I've gone all snooty...I grind it fresh every morning and spend more for it than I care to admit.

I've tried it every which way. I've tried the K-Cups. I've tried Starbucks. I've tried just the regular-ground up Folgers.

I don't know, I just don't like it. Plus it makes my insides feel weird. Kinda makes me feel like my stomach is eating itself. So I just stick to cokes and the occasional energy drink. I had to leave those alone though because I developed chest discomfort (another reason I don't like coffee)

Same here, actually. I drank a liter (!) every morning while living on a coffee plantation in Nicaragua, but outside of that experience I don't touch the stuff.

Lord. You're like my dad.....he drinks black coffee.

And despite him growing up working on a tobacco farm in rural N.C., he drinks UNSWEET tea like some kind of heathen.
I've never liked coffee, and I still kind of don't, but every now and then, I'll get some kind of weird craving for it even though I don't like it. Doesn't make sense, I know, but that's the way it is. Black is the only way I can tolerate it, which is weird too.

Unsweetened tea is amazing, by the way. Much better than sweet, and I grew up on sweet tea.

I'm not a tea drinker at all, so I don't really have a leg to stand on. I'm the douche that stops on the way to our family reunion in Rockingham to buy a 2-liter of Coke because I know all my aunt will serve is sweet tea.

.....I may or may not also stop to grab a secret stash of bourbon to keep in the trunk of my car that I can surreptitiously hit from time to time during the day, seeing as my extended family is your stereotypical Baptist family that puts up the facade that they don't drink, but if they see you sneaking a sip they'll quietly ask you for a hit as well.

I drink unsweetened tea these days as well. Got in the habit while deployed and just never went back to sugar.

And black coffee is the real deal.

I don't drink coffee either. I've had less than 5 cups in my life. I just don't get drinking hot drinks. I drink to be refreshed. Hot drinks don't do that for me. I don't drink hot tea or hot chocolate either. Even in the winter, it just doesn't do it for me. Like you, I love the smell. And I love the taste. Coffee ice cream is banging.

But @BillyL , if you're taking a trip down to Colombia to see Juan Valdez, bring me back something else that can put a little pep in my step.

Similarly, I also don't drink hot drinks. Why would I voluntarily burn the crap out of my tongue and not be able to taste anything the rest of the day?

Yep, got addicted on an aircraft carrier in the Navy, we drank it around the clock. Usually drink good ol' Eight O'Clock Dark Roast, inexpensive but good. I once used cream and sugar but take it strong and black now. Still drink 2-3 cups every day.
