I happen to like it here. Only 5000 people in our county. Too many dook fans however. I don't miss NC one bit and thought I'd never leave there.
LOL wut?

Wait let me try to connect the dots......

- NU sucks at basketball
- Nebraska is all white
- Folks gotta have a team to pull for in college basketball
- Duke usually has a lot of white players
- Afforementioned white players usually look like they've fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down
- Nebraskans can relate to this aesthetic.
- Nebraskans cheer for Duke

Then take your ass down to Chick-fil-A and choke on it.

The meme is just commentary on the hypocrisy that is Chick-fil-A. Don't take it too literally. We're talking about an overly self-righteous company that preaches hatred.
We're talking about a company that makes money hand over fist because they make sure their employees give a shit about their customer and treat them with kindness. I'm sorry if the brilliance of that goes over your head.

I always ask if NU has a bb team. Now there are lots of hotties here I have to admit.

Seriously though, I don't care if Chick-fil-A employees are a bunch of hateful bastards who insult me every single time I go through the drive-thru. Keep giving me some damn good chicken sandwiches, and I'll keep coming back for more.

I don't know why people look way too deep into what a company's views are on certain subjects or whatever the hell people have beefs with these days. It's a f**king fast food chain for Christ's sake. Who gives a damn?

Seriously.....your argument against Chick-fil-A is they serve swine-derived meat?

My argument? No. Like you said, I just found the meme.

I have a problem with the bigotry and discrimination the company projects, and I have a real big problem with the fact that the owner of the company is in bed, figuratively speaking, with the governor of North Carolina and the results of it.

Guess what you should do -- not patronize that restaurant :]

Well, that's inaccurate. Just because the founder doesn't have the same beliefs you do doesn't make the company bad. You need to learn that they are two separate things.

This thread is making me hungry. Think I'm gonna pick up one of these on my way home from work.

I may have to wait in line a while though since so many people love the place because of their awesome chicken and everything.

Tell them you're gay and transgender when you go. They'll still serve you with a smile. Love the sinner; hate the sin. It's pretty much Christianity 101.

May you be trampled by an angry herd of cattle in the parking lot.

Also, we don't get Bojangles TV commercials down here even though we have plenty of Bojangles locations

I'm the opposite. Get Bojangles commercials up here, and think the closest one is a few states away. Chick-fil-A has made it up here though. Although I think I've only been to a Chick-fil-A once. I've been to Bojangles a bunch of times when I was at school. The boberry biscuits and fries and other sides are solid. I'm not a huge fried chicken fan to begin with - so don't really care which side wins this war.

Lord have mercy, okay buckle up for this....

Thank the ACC.

Oh.

Gooood, good. There's hope for you yet.

ABANDON SHIP OR ABANDON ALL HOPE

Seriously though, you need to convince the girlfriend that y'all need at least a year or two of Southern living. Find yourself a job in Charlotte and move out to Mt. Holly / Shelby / Bessemer City area. Something like that. Hey, look at it this way....you'll be rich down here after departing the cost of living of Boston.

Ya, that'd be a great plan. I'm somewhat putting on the long sell and planting that seed early - so we'll see if it ever comes to fruition. If it were easy enough to get a job in Charlotte it'd be somewhat more attainable - I guess I don't really know if I don't try, I just assume interviewing for jobs several states away can't be too easy.

But yes - we would definitely enjoy the lower cost of living. While we're not exactly in the home buying market yet, we've been keeping tabs at what things are selling for up here. And when I point out that we could buy twice the house for half the price in NC - that gets the wheels turning. The real power play would be getting a job on a Boston salary that I could work remote at, and moving to NC. NC cost of living but on a Boston salary....
