When do we expect to hear from him on reclassifying?

Is there any reason to think he's waiting to see what players Hubert will find for him in the portal or among decommits before he reclassifies?

That could get tricky if there are any portal players who are waiting to see who our PG will be.

Does his decision to reclassify have anything to do with Jackson's decision?

Is there any risk of repeating the GG saga - where we finally decide to get a PG from the portal, and then Cadeau reclassifies and ends up somewhere else?

Everybody seems to think Cadeau will be coming this season. But what's the plan if he decides not to reclassify? Do we go with RJ? Do we go after a PG in the portal? Something else?

- after the AAU season. If he announces before that, he won't be allowed to play AAU ball.

- no one knows what Cadeau is weighing before he decides. Everyone just assumes he is coming.

- He committed when everyone thought Jackson was UK bound. It seems unlikely he would suddenly decide Jackson is a factor in this decision.

- We won't be adding a PG from the portal.

- The plan is if Cadeau doesn't come then our PG rotation would be Davis/Trimble with either Wilcher or Lebo as the emergency PG.

Total question of aau ignorance but why couldn’t he play aau once he announces he’s going to unc?

Hope he stays in 2024. Should not break up that monster class because of poor decisions in the short term.

I've yet to see you offer a rational argument for why you think Elliot Cadeau should wait until he's 20 years old to play college basketball.

Perhaps because this is likely the first time I've ever suggested it

OK. So answer the question. After dominating high school competition, AAU competition, FIBA competition for Team Sweden, and winning the National Championship a week or so ago...

Why do you think Elliot Cadeau should return to high school and wait until he's 20 years old to play college basketball?

Anyway, the reasoning is pretty simple.

Many of us already expected 2023-24 was going to to be rough even before the season ended. We also know Hubert's not getting fired no matter how bad he does for at least another year.
So why waste Cadeau's one year on a team we're limping to the barn with? Might as well be Cole Anthony 2.0.

I'd much rather him play with solid talent around him vs using him as desperation to fill Hubert's bad roster management.

And if you're a Hubert fanboy, which I'm pretty sure you are, you should probably not be advocating for a reclass here.
As of now, the 2024 class is his last real beacon of hope in terms of putting this program in the right direction. You really want him to already start tapping into that already?

Just add it to the list of things you're wrong about.

You're wrong that Hubert won't be fired if next year is a bad year. The big money boosters have already made his seat very warm. And in being wrong about that, you're wrong to assume we won't lose commits if Hubert gets fired.

You're wrong to make the Cole Anthony comparison when Cole's one season was ruined by injuries to him and his teammates. They led the NCAA in total player games missed due to injury. Prior to the injuries they were clearly a top 15 squad.

You're wrong in worrying that Cadeau reclassing being a big knock to the 2024 class, because the staff has been actively recruiting Boogie Fland to fill that spot. Boogie has openly said nothing has changed with UNC's recruitment of him since Cadeau has committed. He's friends with Cadeau, Jackson, and Wilcher. That has given us leg up in his recruitment.

But most of all you're wrong for never once considering what's best for Cadeau. You clearly don't care that high school offers no challenge for him anymore and his development is likely to stagnate being a 19 year old beating up on younger kids. Nor do you seem to care that the NBA penalizes kids in the draft the older they get. You also don't seem to care what he and his family want, bc it's been well documented that he's already completed the stuff needed to reclassify and his mom has been on social media advising other parents to prepare years in advance in case reclassification ends up being the best option for the player.

But hey, props for answering honestly.

Agree 100%.
People hating on Cole for that season truly don't know basketball.
That team wins 22 games without all the injuries, especially the games he missed.

As usual amy, your attempts at being smug fall flat because everyone already recgonizes your completely full of shit.

Source: Your Ass. I'll believe it when someone with more than 2 years of no credibility says it. They've already given him a long ass leash as it.

And in being wrong about that, you're wrong to assume we won't lose commits if Hubert gets fired.

Your point? I'd rather get a fresh start and take our lumps now than keep treading water waiting for a miracle from a guy still in training diapers. Nice strawman though.

You're pretty sure I'm a Hubert fanboy?

Like most people here ive started tuning your posts out because they are usually filled with pretentious dribble or something from your more knowledgeable, i̶m̶a̶g̶i̶n̶a̶r̶y̶ ̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ friend on the staff. Maybe we can get him on this board instead of you; he seens more real than anything you've said so far.

You're wrong to make the Cole Anthony comparison when Cole's one season was ruined by injuries to him and his teammates.

Irrelevant and disingenuous. Many were expecting Cole to be the savior. And when he wasn't they tried to act like he wasn't that good He went from a guaranteed lottery pick to mid first round by having to take so many tough shots and played himself to injury.
Why would I want Cadeau to potentially do the same thing when he could come in fresh with a young core? So much for being concerned about what's best for Cadeau, Hypocrite 🤣

But most of all you're wrong for never once considering what's best for Cadeau.

You are the most melodramatic crybaby I've ever seen. Spare me your faux waterworks. I'm not this man's father or his family. So no shit I want what's best for UNC primarily. I'm a UNC BASKETBALL fan and UNC Basketball is more than just one player. Doesn't mean I'm not rooting for the kid, nor are these two mutually exclusive, moron.
But Cadeau is only here for one year. he will likely be a first round pick no matter which class he comes in so explain the issue. I prefer him here when we have the best chance to win with him. I wished no ill-will upon him and will cheer for him whether he comes this year or next.
You are either a complete disphit or a dipshit pretending to be one so you can find nitpicks to argue with me.

So **** right off with your fake bleeding heart BS. Better yet, stop responding to me all together. Tired of having to read you strawmen and fallacies every time you post.

I think some of you need to calm down about what he can do next year. One player isn't going to all of a sudden make us a great team. Having a great point guard is very important, but we have a lot of issues and he will still be a freshman. Last year should have shown everyone what unrealistic expectations can look like.

Can we just get Cadeau and Jackson this year since we are having no luck getting the top guys in the portal?? Maybe thats the plan all along?? But our 2024 class will be super weak.. But, if we win the title next year, 2024 wont be as desperate.

When you don't have a PG at all?... and an elite PG comes in?...
Pretty hard to overestimate that impact.

Why would you make the definitive statement that "our 2024 class will be super weak?"

We'd still have Powell, who has climbed to a 5 star rating since he committed. We'd still have Brown who is going to improve his game at Link Academy. We're still recruiting Jarin Stevenson. We're still recruiting PG Boogie Fland. There is still plenty of time to recruit others like the 5 star wing from North Meck high school.

Counterpoint:
What is inherently wrong with optimism? Focusing on the negative makes the issues seem insurmountable and vastly overstates them! Focusing on the positive leaves hope that it can turn around in 1 year!

1 player at the right spot can certainly turn a team around. Saying a natural PG will make everyone better is not the same as saying he makes us the odds on fave to win the Natty!

I have watched a lot of ball and all three of those guys (Cadeau, Jackson, and Wilcher) are pretty close to being college ready right now. I hope we never have to field a team with 3 freshmen starters, but this trio might be the exception!

"You guys need to chill, adding the next Chris Paul to run the offense and get easy baskets for the entire team including Armando Bacot won't have much of an impact on a team that was mediocre on offense last year."

I said it would make a big impact, but it doesn't automatically help us go from horrible shooting team to average shooting team. His assist are only assist if the other players make their shots. He doesn't play a stretch four. He can't guard multiple positions at the same time. And even though Hubert will probably try it, he can't play 40 minutes a game with no issues.

My point is that people who are automatically assuming we are going to go from NIT to one of the best teams in the country because of him are setting bad expectations. Maybe let the guy come in and play basketball instead of anointing him the second coming of Phil Ford.

I sent Cadeau's mom a tweet and she responded with a "like". She didn't bite otherwise...lol

UNC fans can't wait to see Elliot running at the 1 at UNC. If he reclasses to 2023, will he participate in the the summer pick-up games with former players at the Dean Dome? That's some serious action there. @ElliotCadeau

We follow each other on twitter and she has been sending out "hints" on reclassification for weeks now, but other than those hints she is saying nothing.

The good news is that Jackson might be able to handle some minutes at SF. Not against Creighton or other heavy hitting teams, but at least he looks like he might be almost tall enough.

OTOH, let's not schedule any games on aircraft carriers. Both Wilcher and Jackson look like a modest breeze might get them airborne.

Somebody please put those guys on the Tyler Hansbrough diet plan.

BTW, I've seen a lot of kids doing that hand gesture that both Wicher and Jackson have on display. Does it mean something?

Well, obviously it takes more, BUT... put a real PG running last season's team? EASY Elite-8 +
