since our coach doesn’t have the balls to reel you in, here goes since you do read the message boards. You have the ability to be a super talented basketball player but you give LOSER effort. You are selfish and you are a drain on this team and any bit of opportunity we have for success. You are a black hole on offense, and you give piss poor effort on defense. Your shooting percentage is trash yet you continue to hike up shot after shot. Your lack of effort on that last defensive possession where you refused to move your feet and rather gave up a drive and tried to reach around to get a deflection is a LAZY, LOSER play on arguably the most important defensive possession of our season. Your willingness to take the easy way out in that possession shows us all who you really are. A selfish, lazy player with no regard for locking in for your team. I hope the whole roster hits the portal if you return. Let Hubert play all our games with just you on the floor taking shitty shot after shitty shot. That’s what we’ve done this year anyways. Maybe we can get Hubert to hit the portal with you.

Not saying people should be assholes, but 21 isn't that young and he's making a decent amount of money playing basketball. I'm not feeling sorry for him. But he's smart for getting off social media. That shit is a big part of what's wrong with society.

You're right. Everyone should just give him a pat on the head, a participation trophy and tell him how great he is. You're going to get your performance judged at every job. Dosen't matter if you're bouncing a ball or going to an office. It's life.

If he's butt hurt about some of the negative commentary maybe he should take an objective look at his stats for this season. And I'll admit I don't read everything posted but it seems the criticism of this group has been spread fairly evenly across the board and if Caleb doesn't realize that some negative comments go with the territory then he has some unrealistic expectations for high profile athletics. Not everyone gets their face on the cover of SI and make hundreds of thousands in side $$ while getting a free ride to a top notch university. Just saying.

Love is not the root cause of the problems with this team, he is merely one of the symptoms.

Who allowed him to play so many minutes while consistently playing poor defense and playing inconsistent and generally subpar offense ?

Who refused to therapeutically bench him for poor play ?

Who did not recruit over him with a proven portal guard ?

Who refused to take away the unlimited "green light" to shoot whenever and from wherever, regardless of his play ?

I'm sure Love is a decent guy, but his adult handlers have done him a great disservice. And for some unknown reason, perhaps pride, HD and the coaching staff are seemingly fine with the players taking the blame for an awful season. That is very disappointing but revealing.

If you want to have a career in the entertainment industry, and that's all sports is anymore, then you have to have a very thick skin.

Fan is short for fanatic. Fanatics do and say crazy things. The vast majority of the posters on this board have been fair in their critiques of the team and the staff. Some have gone off the deep end at times, but by and large, most of the criticism has been legitimate. I don't understand those fans that want to put all the blame on the players, nor those that place it all on Hubert. There is plenty of blame/criticism to go around. Many things led to our abysmal season, the actions of players and coaches alike.

There are a ton of things that need addressing in the off season. Some honest self-reflection on the part of the players and the staff is in order. Let's hope it occurs and we see more positive results next year.

I've already said people shouldn't be assholes. I think that comment would fall under that and not criticism. But you already knew what I meant, so I'm not sure why you quoted me.

The attention around Caleb was probably really good last March. He was probably living a life that most people couldn't dream of because of his performance against Duke in the Final Four. I suppose that unrealistic positivity and hero worship is fine because it's positive, but something negative isn't ok because.....?????

Obviously you shouldn't wish death upon anyone and we can all agree that the extremes are bad. But if you accept all the good that comes with celebrity and hero worship, then accepting the bad is part of it too.

It’s safe to say, he’s received some pretty warranted criticism and unwarranted comments.

There’s nothing constructive about telling a kid he should kill himself. Period. But there’s also nothing constructive about telling him he’s sh*t, he sucks, he should leave, we’re better off without him, etc.

He’s done more for this program’s storied history than anyone on this board and anyone lurking in his comments.

I applaud his effort and wish him the best in his future endeavors if he were to move on. But the szn is over. We can b*tch and moan about his play all day and nite for the entire offseason but it doesn’t change the fact that he simply underperformed. Just like the rest of the team. Give it a rest, let him live, and move on.
