I've been very happy with his play so far. He definitely improves our chances to make a deep run in the NCAA tourney. He now has played three games for UNC so what are your thoughts so far?? His numbers look good, I believe Roy said he was about 80-85 percent back to normal.
He's averaging 4.3 RPG in 22.3 MPG. Not bad at all, especially since he's mainly a perimeter player. And he's working hard on defense. He's better on the glass than I expected him to be tbh. Shot is as advertised. He's going to be immensely useful against UVA.
He is working hard, Arch. Defense was his biggest deficit coming in --- and he was awful in preseason --- but he seems to be buying in to Roy's culture and is giving good effort. He's averaging 4.3 RPG in 22.3 MPG. He does indeed. He spoke about learning to "mesh" with our other players, knowing where to go and his teammates knowing where to find him. What an articulate, well spoken young man.He is working hard, Arch. Just when you start to worry that you just lost a once-in-a-lifetime player in JJ, along comes CJ! He is the perfect solution and more proof that Roy is a freakin' genius! He just needs to tighten up his D, work a little more to internalize our O, and continue to improve in health/strength/conditioning to become an All ACC contender!
It sure is great to support kids that want to be Tar Heels and aren't just coming here as an NBA stopover!
