Coby White to the Draft

Cole Anthony is a scoring point like Berry and Coby...just like the NBA like....Berry was just too short...too slow....not a good enough shooter to get drafted. Now Gary if you continue with this behavior, I will ban you from this board.

Yep

The days of "true" PGs are coming to an end in the NBA. Coby will play PG in the NBA

Exactly. And he was a freaking PG at UNC.

Looking at the NBA assist leaders this year, 13 of the top 15 average at least 15ppg and 10 of the top 15 average at least 20ppg.

All of these PGs score now and are usually score first. That is the point guard position now. The word "combo guard" is basically describing every player under 6'6''.

Oh, and I can assure you anything I say about Cole Anthony --- just as it has been with Coby White --- will be true, whether you or anyone else likes it or not.

Oh really? Here's you, less than 8 months ago:

Who said I was down on Coby?
He's just not a OAD

No way in hell Coby is OAD, unless he finds school disagreeable.

You wanna take back that statement?

Yup. You think the Lakers regret trading DeAngelo Russell, a scoring PG and drafting true PG Lonzo Ball? I think they do. I would.

Pretty ironic too that they could have had Tatum, who in all likelihood will be the centerpiece of the AD trade, instead of picking Ball.

And they were idiots for making it known to the world that they wanted Ball cuz Boston knew it could trade back to 3 to get Tatum and not worry about LA.

Did you watch him play this year? They could make a 5 minute long highlight reel just of his finishes at the rim, where the crowd and announcers would ooh and aah and wonder how did he just do that?

Maybe only Ja Morant was a better rim finisher at guard this year, and you'd have to go back to possibly Lawson for the Heels, though I think they were about even regarding ability to drive and finish at the rim.

Even in the Auburn game, Coby's ability to finish was a key reason we didn't lose by 30+.
Coby's strength coming in was his finishing/scoring ability, and it is still his top attribute. His motor, speed, and attack mode ability was his calling card. Elite level !!!! With his wingspan and size there were and are questions on how that will translate in the league. Bigger, longer bodies to finish over. Hence high 4 star/ low 5 star ratings.

His ability to run point coupled with his shoting ability at range has made him very attractive. If he is a 6'5 short armed attack the rim guy playing the 2 his strength of attacking the bucket is a question on translating to the League.

The fact that he has shown the other parts is what makes his ability to finish as a plus. Lillard and McCollum who were referenced shoot LIGHTS OUT, and can finish.

The take of questioning his finishing ability compared to them or others is the point. If that was all that his game was perceived as still, the league would be tepid. With the other elements he showed, finishing is a major plus to a NBA type all around game for his size and length, which gives him the look of a a top 10 pick type area.

One thing I think we can ALL agree on..........................................

Coby should have had a ton more "and 1" than he got! His strength cost him a lot of calls he should have got at the rim.

Now let's all talk about Coby and drop the gary crap. We all expressed our concerns during the season about gary dissin Coby and he never apologized, to late now so lets move on.

Dang Mike, you conveyed in one sentence exactly what I've been trying to spit out with my weak writing skills. Bingo, I too think it was because of his strength and lack of flopping that cost him some foul calls. Thanks

I don’t think flopping works unless you’re a dookie. Joel got knocked down for real a lot and rarely got a call.

Last 3 I saw :

Coby #6/#9/#5

Nas #12/#17/#11

Cam # 20/# 24/#32

First mock with him going to Chicago with the #4 pick. Some whispers about my Bulls maybe being interested in giving Coby and Garland hard looks at guard, along with the top wings Hunter, Culver, and Reddish, if they stay at the projected #4 overall
