I meant to put that in the tweets thread, my bad. It's not flattering, so I'm sure the source is not credible. Just keep using that to explain every moronic thing he says. It's interesting to me because, I don't even think he realizes that he's going to fabricate some goofy shit when he gets started on one of these kinds of exchanges. He doesn't do it intentionally, or maliciously, really. And, if he were just still DJT the real estate/celebrity/novelty act guy, it would be no big deal. Now, he's the POTUS. And, when that person spouts-off stupid shit like this, it makes all of us look like fools.

I completely agree with you about the democratic establishment refusing to learn. But being too "progressive" definitely was not the issue. The actual progressive was filling arenas, and if the DNC didn't rig the primary then he probably crushes Trump in the general. Instead they forced through a corporatist shill posing as a progressive. If you know anything about (real) progressives, then you know that was never going to fly. Millions of people that would have voted for Bernie either didn't vote at all, or even voted for Trump because of many of the reasons outlined in this thread.
Trump got less votes than McCain did. He definitely didn't inspire some unprecedented populist revolution. Hillary Clinton was the only person on the face of the planet that could have lost to Donald Trump in that election. She dropped nearly ten million votes from the number Obama got in 2008. It wasn't because she was too progressive. It was because she acted like a progressive while being the perfect example of everything that progressives (and just about everybody else) hate about D.C.
I said all along that if Hillary was nominated she would lose to Trump. She doesn't inspire anyone. People just don't ever turn out to vote AGAINST someone just because they don't like them. It's like some crazy large scale bystander effect.

Not at all. He's just full of shit... frequently. I don't think he should be impeached for making dumbass claims like this. Quite the opposite. Sometimes, it even allows his supporters a chance to look foolish along with him by defending it rather than just admitting he loves making shit up. It's double the entertainment! Good job.
