Congratulations NC Republicans!

I have an honest question --

Why is it that Trump surging right now is due to the "angry white voter" and that is seen as some kind of deterrent...but on the other token, the entire Democratic existence is based on uneducated, fickle, "victimized" crowd who simple want a hand out. Why is it that one is overlooked for the other?

And also -- I'm failing to understand everyone saying Trump stands no chance. They also said a few months ago that he stood no chance at getting the GOP nomination. Don't underestimate the power of confidence and belief.

For the record -- I am not a genius by any means, but I do have a Masters degree and providing for my family, so I certainly hope I don't fall into the "angry white redneck" category for believing this country desperately needs a change of pace and none of the other candidates have sold me on their ability to accomplish it. I think Trump is a HELL of a lot smarter than people give him credit for.

Another great post.

Hillary certainly has a challenging road ahead. Fortunately her opponent is a walking punchline who's doing his best to alienate most of the country.

Ultimately I have no choice but to put my faith in the ultimate good sense of the American people in this case. But I have to admit some of you guys are doing a pretty good job of shaking it. Only on this board, though. I have yet to meet anyone in real life who admits to actually thinking Trump should be the leader of the free world.

Dude- if you and I were at a cocktail party and you asked me about Trump, I would roll my eyes and give a vague answer because I wouldn't want to hear from you about Hitler references, hair, penis size discussions and so on.

I would never tell an anti-Trumpist that I like Trump simply because I don't want to talk politics with people who compare my guy to Hitler and the choice of idiots and racists. I don't agree, but I don't want to argue it outside the board.

"Trump will be gone by October"
"Trump will be gone by December"
"Trump will be gone by February"

.....keep wishing, haters.

The only way to stop him at this point is to have a contested convention, assuming he doesn't get the needed amount of delegates beforehand. The delegates of candidates who dropped out are free to vote for whoever they want to for the most part (there are some conditions that have to be met in some states).
That's how I understand it also. If he gets the needed delegates before the convention it's a done deal because on the first ballot the delegates have to vote for whoever won the primary in their district but if he doesn't have the needed going in, then the delegates would be free to vote for anybody they want to on the second ballot.

Just calling a spade a spade. You can't have one nominee's support generalized the way Trump's is and not also acknowledge the reciprocal side of it.

Of course, I know there are exceptions to every rule, so I'm not labeling any one person. Again, just keeping the playing field level here. ;)

We're about to find out how many rounds the GOP still has in their gun. I'd imagine the establishment is going to do everything in their power to stop him. Good luck with that.

I don't think they would have a contested convention. If they did something like that the party would be damaged for several election cycles. The best thing for them to do is just go ahead and recognize that Trump will win. If they try to push him out he's just going to run as a third party candidate which means Clinton wins the election. If it's just Trump and her then there is at least a chance the republicans win.

Note the use of the pronoun "I".

Correct, you may not, but there has been so much of it that in order to protect myself against the bore, I wouldn't talk about Trump to anyone I had an inkling that they dislike him.

THIS is why like the Trump candidacy and campaign. Fracturing that joke of a party would be ideal. Ideally get the religious fanatics out since Trump doesn't mind gays marrying and doesn't intend on making abortion illegal. The mainstream GOP wigs aren't conservative anyway, but they need to maintain the illusion that they are.

There is NO WAY the GOP mainstream will turn and embrace him now. I listen to the talk radio mouthpieces somewhat frequently and that squad has all shown they refuse Trump. It's going to be difficult to tear the guy down for months and months, and then suddenly back-track and refute everything and repackage it and trump-et his conservative appeal. Not impossible, but difficult. Trump is not "conservative" really. There are a few things about Trump that the conservative voices can get behind- the Muslim hatred/fear and immigration. That wall is a big seller. That wall is never going up, so Mexico need not be concerned bout that bill in the mail. Oh, they probably agree on the ACA, but I'm not sure Trump has the intention or ability to change that.

I would prefer both parties to be fractured. Neither one of them have a clue.

The talk radio people don't have as much power as they think they do. They don't change anyone's opinions, they just reinforce them. People made up their mind about Trump before turning on the radio.

That wall is never going up

That's true. I don't see anything ever being done concerning immigration by either party. They can't afford to upset the apple cart.

Seriously? You need to pay more attention then. That's been going on for a couple weeks now. The most recent desperate attempt.

dude, seriously, not literally...cmon man, know your history.

as soon as anyone sees someone at a rally do anything, they are quick to jump...some lady had her hand raised as if she were "heil hitler" to trump and it went viral...also, the idea of promising everything, similar to all politicians, is another hitler tie-in...when you have that, along with that lady, the media will wrap it up perfectly for the sheep.

The people comparing Trump to Hitler must have forgotten about the nationwide brainwashing attempt done 7-8 years ago. Talk about creepy...

Right- you laughed again. And thought to yourself that these comments sound like something you or your friends would say, probably in jest. In other words, men being men and a bunch of Hillary femininists getting mad about it.

In other words, you have laughed at Hillary twice after viewing 2 clips- one pro and one anti Trump. Thats not good for Hilldawg.
This ad was created by a super PAC made up of Republicans who are opposed to Trump. It has nothing to do with Hillary.

I'm just looking forward to the Trump vs Hildabeast debate, that will be a doozy! And there will only be one ... HRC isn't stupid enough to let him destroy her face-to-face more than once.

That debate will be hilarious haha. But yes, unfortunately there will be only one. Trump will roast her, and then she'll pull a "wow - I'm so offended by that bigoted racist monster that I can't bear to ever be on the same floor as that pig again! He has no respect for women or minorities so I won't let his voice be heard!" or some other BS schtick to get out of having to debate him again.

Great. I don't care who made it up- it doesn't help Hilldawg

And this also shows just how out of touch the GOP establishment is if what you state is correct.

I wonder if he will be able to persuade her to do her Yorkie imitation.

President Barack Obama’s former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) believes Hillary Clinton should drop out of the presidential race to clear the way for the probe of her private email server by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation, Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn (Ret.) said he thought the former Secretary of State should leave the Democratic presidential race: ”I think Hillary Clinton, for the good of the country, should step down and let this FBI investigation play out.”

Wrong thread Nuk. You are looking for the "Hillary going to be indicted soon thread"

I hope she doesn't get indicted. Joe Biden could be a more formidable opponent.

Don't know how relevant the primary numbers are to predict turnout once we're actually faced with the real possibility of a Trump presidency. Like I said, we'll see.

Personally, I think we'll see the American people make their point loud and clear once it's up to the full electorate and not just the GOP. But ... I've been wrong before, at least according to my wife.

It's sorta like when Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California.

SNL sketches will be awesome, at least. They'll write themselves.

That's not surprising. The real question is will they come out in the general election? It's been low historically, but the prospect of a Trump presidency could help with the turnout. I would guess that any drop in the black vote would be made up in the increase of the female vote in the general election.

Don't worry black folks will be out for the general election. The goal is to stop one person and one person only. Trust me it's talked about on national hip-hop and urban talk shows throughout this country. It's just not published like it was in 2008, but you could rest assure that black people would be out in Novemeber.

I tend to agree with @JuleZ '02 HEEL on this one. If Trump fails, it will ironically be because of his anti-PC message that his supporters seem to love so much. Most politicians attempt to appeal to a wide range of voters, or at least not go out of their way to piss off entire demographics. Trump, on the other hand, has made numerous disparaging comments about women, minorities, and immigrants. That's exactly how you unite opposition behind a single cause:
The goal is to stop one person and one person only.
