Not really. Groups of peoples have been snatching land from other groups of people since the beginning of time. Palestine should have sucked less and they'd still be in complete control of their land. Ditto for Native Americans.
I say go for it. I've long thought we should let Israel off the leash and let them handle the Middle East. These days, Israel is way more badass than we are.

"the U.S." should probably be replaced with "Russia" to make this statement more accurate. They saved everyone's bacon in WW2, giving us time to fully immerse ourselves in the conflict and then figure out how to flex our new military might.
Yeah, but we both know why the U.S. did that: "Christian kinship with the Israelis" is a nice-sounding front to cover up the simple, cold, hard fact that we needed/need Israeli as an ally in the oil-rich and terrorist-ridden Middle East.
I'm not sure that their distinction as being an American ally is doing America any favors at all. In fact, I think it does more harm than good.
This dynamic really didn't emerge until the 1956 Suez Conflict in which several countries invaded the Sinai to prevent Nasser from nationalizing the Suez Canal (which would have impacted world oil supply and pricing, 8 years after Israel was founded) and was accentuated in the aftermath of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, 25 years after Israel was founded. US original thinking for backing the formation of Israel was to find an appropriate region to settle in the region after Hitler tried to wipe them out...
My comment was dark satire directed at the entire human race, in general. All groups, sides, affiliations included. I wasn't referring to just those two.
That may have been the original purpose, but that is not what it is today. You can argue that their actions today lead to more conflict, not help to peacefully resolve it.
