Do you think Meeks can average a double-double this season?

I would like him at 16 and 10 with good D and BJ at 20 an 10 with 2 blocks per! But I have been accused of being too optimistic!

No,l honestly I don't, not unless he developes a mid range jump shot and a solid in close go to move other than 5 pump fakes and rebounding his own misses. I do believe he will have a game or 2 around 20/10 but no, I don't see him averaging a double double at this point, hope I am wrong about that. Honestly, I see Meeks as a 4yr guy, even my fertile imagination can not see him being in the next NBA draft nor do I see him as a favorite to be all ACC 1st or 2nd team.

offense, offense-remember he got in foul trouble too much and some fouls...just bad ones ...also will he keep his composure if his shot is blocked and blocked again...a tenacious attitude and performance will be a better gauge than statistics

Can do, but needs more pt.........fewer fouls.
Who in the league can stop him?
Really, who in ACC will stop him.
Probally 12 & 8 is about right.

he is not going to get the 10 boards but he will go 12/7

If Hicks goes 6/6 its all good...

Hicks will indeed get more than 6 and 6. Meeks looked good to me last year and was just a bit off many times near the rim. I saw the effort and frustration when his shots just rolled off. I expect this to drive his work in the coming season and to see him and James show marked improvement. Better condition should also help with the fouls from last year to keep him in the game longer. 16 and 10 should be within reach for him, but 14 and 8 would be excellent for the Heels, and that's certainly doable.

I doubt he averages a double double. It wouldn't shock me if his averages went down slightly. I expect more from Brice and Hicks and if JJ has improved, he'll eat into Meeks' time and averages.

I am thinking about 13 PPG 9 RPG in 25 MPG

Despite our system the two best players on this team are perimeter players. Even Brice who has the most potential on this team still wont be more than about a 15-16 PPG 8-9 RPG guy in 26-28 MPG. We need to ride Meeks and Johnson early in games and have them carry us thru until the last 4-5 minutes. Those last 4-5 minutes Jackson and Paige need to be the top options.

May, Hansbrough, Henson only guys to do it since 2000. That 10 rebound number is tough, especially when you have another guy that can leap through the gym right next to you grabbing them.

I'll take 14/8 and be very happy.

You hit the nail on the head there, Brice and Hicks will both drag in a lot of caroms. Remember too, Justin is a sneaky good rebounder - averaged over 3 last season but I reckon good for 5+ boards a game.

It'll also be interesting to see who picks up their rebounding with Tokoto gone. JP was especially active on the defensive end - he averaged 4 def per game and 5.6 overall.

Sadly a lot of kennedy's boards in the last two seasons were tip-ins of his own misses! That said, he still went 56% from the floor last year, so maybe he just needs more touches in good position - more shots, better percentage and similar rebounding would get that 14-8 mark.

This is all good news to me. It seems we agree that he might not make double digit rebounds, but the reason is others will play so well that it prevents it. I don't see a down side to this!
