People like to constantly beat him down and tell him how to coach but today he shut up a bunch of his distractions by some great moves. I think everyone here expected Pinson to be covering Monk after that 47 back in December but Pinson started on Fox and limited him to just 12 which is a far cry from the 39 he put on UCLA Friday night.

Down late in the second half he put his team into a zone and it seemed to totally confuse the Kentucky offense. Humphries only got one more shot and he missed it.

Thirdly at the last TV timeout he put a scorer in in the form of Maye for the senior Hicks.

He also called a crucial time out when Kentucky went up by 4 late which stopped the Cats momentum.

I rest my case

Before I second that!..revenge is a dish best served..by a cold blooded jumper/by a final four berth..."don't hate the playa-hate the game"...good call to advance quickly despite sweet jumper by Monk...payback how sweet the sound!!!...a walk-on saves the day)))

Just for the record. Luke was never a walk-on. Remember? He was a "wasted scholarship". I don't want to jinx anything, but if he never scores another point for them he's earned his 4 years of scholly in my opinion.

Wouldn't trade Roy for anyone and those regular season losses that people attribute to not calling a TO....you can combine all of those and it wouldn't equate to 1/100th of how much more important a victory like this was. Our guys are always ready to play even after a made basket, we don't expect the TO and so we don't freeze. That strategy paid huge dividends.

Roy and Cal both coached the azz off. Fox was limited to about 3 minutes of playing time in the first half which really hurt. You guys did do a good job of keeping him out of the paint for the most part though

Guts to have Luke in at the end with Hicks and Bradley on the bench. But Roy was thinking they would have to hits some 3's (which they did) and the size inside would not be that much or a factor. Luke as a shooter was more valuable at that time despite what conventional wisdom would dictate.

Fox's future is unbelievable. And his post game comments showed me his character as well.

Didn't hear his post game comments but both teams said the right things. i was kind of hoping your guys would run their mouth like our previous opponents had to inspire us. Didn't happen, seems Roy doesn't allow that. Good game, good luck the rest of the way, and is that Maye kid really a former walk on...

Yep!

Incredible coaching job. So impressed and proud with everyone associated with this team! Go Heels!!

Here are some comments from someone on twitter

>This is another testament to what an awful coach Roy Williams is, and yet noone in the >sports media will have the balls to call him out.

Same guy.

>I've said this for as long as I've been a Heels fan - Roy Williams is a trash coach. 12 >poss = 0 points?! Call a ****ing TO and organize!

I of course responded with, two national titles, second fastest to 800, etc, but it was really hard not to call him a *profanity laced* moron.

Edit.

Here's the twitter handle, feel free to abuse as you see fit.

Maybe now there won't be so many coaches out there rated higher than Roy!

Looking at you Matta, Crean, et al!

I wouldn't trade Roy for any coach past or present save one...DES!

Go Roy!
Go Tar Heels!
