Football is the only sport it's good money to do that in. They've beat us in 3 of the last 5.
Only reason I thought about doing it is bc it's like a sacrifice. I sacrifice my $50 for a UNC win.

I like money. Period. If UNC wins, I'm out 2 bills, big deal, I made way more than that on the SB. If Puke wins, I'm pissed but have house money to roll with. Win-win everytime.
Yup. Plus, I'll throw a small prop bet down on Justin Jackson points over or something like that, so I can still root for UNC with my wallet, in addition to obviously rooting for them with my heart.
I just don't care.
I myself do not need to wager this game to make it more exciting, nor do I need the extra $ that could potentially come from betting on Dook as the favorite and winning the wager.
If you goobers want to bet on Dook as the favorite because you need the action that badly or because you love money that much, then a pox I must cast on your houses.

just don't bet it at all- there are other games tonight. Or bet the total- I would take the over @ 160, but I suck at basketball totals.

Both teams have some solid scorers and we saw Duke's home games with GT (91),BC (87) and NCSU (82). UNC has Berry, Jackson, Meeks and Hicks for points.

I take this game very personal. I haven't watched a UNC dook game in public since 09-10. Sometimes I take it to an unhealthy level maybe but I don't care. By me betting on dook it gives me an out. I want UNC to win BADLY but if they don't I make some money. I don't need the money by any means but if somebody walks up to me and hands me a $5 bill I'm gonna take it.
My exact rationale. I HATE losing to Duke, and it's always exacerbated by the fact that the Heels find some way to royally **** things up when they're in a chance to win. Hello Zeller failing to get out and defend Rivers' 3. Hello epic collapse last year in Chapel Hill. Hello Felton team where we dribble into the corner like morons and can't even get off a last shot in Cameron.
Fortunately the late action I had didn't cost me quite as much as the late action you're inferring to - but it was close
Ya, I watch the UNC/Duke games at home now too. The last one I watched out at a bar was a few years ago when we blew some game we should have had and I got pretty heated about it. Of course there wasn't anyone else there that really gave a shit about the game, so I sort of looked like a clown for being the only one yelling at the TV. I prefer to look like a clown in private now.

I've got $40 on both the 1H over 77.5 and game over of 160.5.
I might throw something in on either side's ML before tip. I'm pretty convinced that we have the better team, but RH's find on the 1st game of the year against them has only confirmed my belief that Roy coaches like he DGAF until the stretch run of the regular season (and then takes a break for the ACCT) and NCAAT. So I'm torn.

I'm officially NOT betting Puke on the spread or ML ...just doesn't make sense value wise. I'm on the 1st half and game total OVER both ways.
Currently, Bovada MLs are Duke -125, UNC +105. Decent value there for Duke. O/U has risen to 164. If it gets up to 167, I'm taking the under.

JUST came here to poast I took over lol. I waffled back and forth but figured the game will get prolonged at the end with FTs.
It's just an emotional hedge. I'm gonna be pissed off and drunk if we lose regardless, might as well do something to soften the blow by like 2%
