I bet for entertainment, not to make money, so no, it doesn't seem smart to bet on Duke against Carolina. You do whatever you want- you pretty much spend all of your time railing on Carolina and Roy and fans anyways- might as well bet against UNC too.

I actually think it makes way more sense to bet on a team/rivalry game with which we're all VERY familiar and is pretty predictable (1st game stats held true again tonight) vs betting on some soccer game on the other side of the world. No one is on here telling you what a dumb ass you are for that. You know why? Cause it's gambling and we're all cool with whatever you choose to do with YOUR money. Sorry, just had to vent.
Just don't. He's got extra heat for me lately. But agreed, it makes perfect sense to bet against your team in a big game and/or rivalry. Major Vegas casino operators say all the time that they bet against their team in big games to emotionally hedge.

Tempers are high. It's the Duke game. I don't take it personally. I really did think we had what it takes this game though, based on that run we made in the second half to regain the lead when we were down 6. That's when I slapped the in-game Carolina ML down.
