Got any money ridin' on _____ ?

"My top rule is no bets while drunk (obvious but SO difficult on weekends). I put them in after about an hour research in the morning then don't touch it for the rest of the day."

one of the main rules of all long term successful sports bettors ... but the rule most often broken by losing bettors.
And the rule broken by yours truly most often! #RIP my wallet.

If we're all explaining our areas of expertise, mine is college football. I've been a bit cold lately, but overall I do quite well. In the same way you watch a ton of CBB @dadika13, I watch a ton of CFB. Tuesday and Wednesday night MACtion? I'm watching. Wednesday and Thursday night Fun Belt (Sun Belt)? I'm in.

Will poast my thoughts on tonight's games a bit later.

Absolutely.

The toughest for me is to not put in 2h bets after watching a 1st half at the bar. When I'm sober, I like to think I know the game very well and can see trends. When I'm drunk, I think I'm Nostradamus.

Looking forward to the CFB action, appreciate any pics you chose to share!

Quick story about 2nd half bets and in-game bets. I was up about $290 last December. I went ahead and put a future of $75 on Alabama winning the national championship, so was down to $215.

Then, I bet like $10 on VT against Arkansas in the Belk Bowl. Don't even remember the line. Up until that point, I had always had really good success with high-risk, low-payout in-game MLs. The Packers would go up by 10 in a game, I'd thrown down $50 to make $15. Shit like that. I had never been burned.

....then Arkansas happened. They shoot out of the gate and go up by 24 points in the first half. What do I do? I put $200 on Arkansas in-game ML to win $25 lol. I was drunk, obviously. But I was watching the game and Virginia Tech was dead and buried. Their sideline had zero energy, they couldn't stop Arkansas's run, and they couldn't do shit on offense. Literally the next play after I submit that bet, VT scores a TD. Then on the other side of halftime, Arkansas scores a long TD and I'm like hell yeah, this thing is ovuhh! Nope, called back by holding. Arkansas never. scored. again. VT came back from 24 down and ended up winning by like 14 lol. $200 goneeeee. Come to find out, Arkansas had blew multiple large leads throughout that season. Huh, who knew? Certainly not me.

And as we all know, Alabama lost, so I didn't get that (-115) payout back either from my $75.

I got porked big time last night. Had under 5.5 in the Bruins/Rangers game... it was 3-2, and the Rangers scored an ENG with 7 seconds left... unbelievable.

****s an ENG?

Empty net goal... figured it was gonna happen as soon as the Bruins pulled the goalie with a minute to play. Then thought when the Rangers had the puck in their own end with 10 seconds left that they'd just sit on it. Nope - passed it up the boards and took a shot from the red line and it went in... F me.

Damn. What a way to lose a bet. I’d be mad as hell.

I had an in-game ML on Kent State +27.5 last night, meaning all they needed to do was score a garbage TD and make the extra point.

They scored the garbage time TD....................and missed the extra point. Lost by half a point.

It amuses me when people scoff like Star Wars is some obscure cult-following Sci-fi film.

It's the biggest movie franchise in history with possible exceptions to James Bond, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter.

Pitt is doing a Star Wars theme night at the game vs. Carolina, and A.J. on premium says he knows nothing about Star Wars. Neither does @ticket2ride04

Bless their hearts.
@ticket2ride04 doesn't really surprise me given his general knowledge on other subjects. It makes sense that there would be something else on the list of reasons why he's a failure at life. I'm hoping someone has let AJ know that he has failed at life by not knowing anything about Star Wars. I just hope @heelz2345 isn't reading this. His head might explode.

The franchise has brought in about $7.8 billion. And that's not even adjusting for inflation.

I would beat you or @heelz2345 in a general Star Wars knowledge quiz.

Lol. I've seen 2 of the Star Wars movies, 1 of the LOTR, don't think I've ever watched a Bond movie in its entirety, and 2 of the Harry Potters (although read all of the books, some multiple times).

Not missing anything on the Harry Potter movies. They're good and get progressively better from #3 onward, but they're very similar to the books. If you've read the books, you're fine.

To me, James Bond movies are meh.

LOTR, though, is worth seeing all of them (at least the 3 LOTR movies; Hobbit is optional) simply because they're cinematic masterpieces. Even if you're not a fantasy nerd, they're worth watching. They also make the story much more accessible than the books do. You pretty much have to read the books with wikipedia and a map of Middle-earth open to keep you oriented.

I'll take your bet

You failed to specify who had to start such a movie tournament.
What, like you're gonna see it through to completion?
