IDK about title contenders but HD can really recruit. I do think this team will be more cohesive though. Pleased!
Pretty good work this offseason. Upgraded the wing position. Got a 4 who looks like he fits much better. Looks like we have guard depth. Hopefully one more key add.
Is DaveChappelle out celebrating with the staff? I'm assuming that's what he is doing instead of coming here and explaining why he's been wrong so many times.

WW, I would rather Cadeau reclass and come to us for next season but if he didn't, I still do NOT want to see RJ play one more second as our PG. I think 3 seasons in a row of RJ as our PG in what I consider 3 seasons in a row WITHOUT UNC starting a PG to be far more than enough. If Cadeau does not come now then I want a combination of Wilcher and Tremble at the point. I would rather see Leaky as our PG than RJ and Leaky at the PG spot made my eyes bleed actual blood! OK, so not really but I had to add some dramatic effect to reflect how much I do not like RJ at the point!
I agree. Even if you think he deserves it, I'm not here for the pissing contests.
I want to say VERY clearly, I have zero interface with that guys unit and frankly, I don't even want to have that in my thought process!
Incidentally this is another guy whose percentages rise significantly in catch-and-shoot opportunities.
RJ will do fine when he has players (again) who know what to do with the ball when he gets it to them, don't hog the ball and refuse to pass it back, and know how to run set plays so he doesn't get stuck dribbling as the clock winds down.
I think this roster fixes all those problems.

I also think Trimble and Dunn can stay on the team with this roster. Don't know if they will, but I'll be surprised if they stay with Cadeau here.
Finally, this is a squad with a high IQ and plenty of experience. I'm sure Cadeau's IQ is high, too, but with the guys we've added, that's no longer a glaring lack. This team should be able to execute, We don't need to add freshman mistakes to the mix at the most critical position.
Kudos to Hubert for pulling all these guys together. Let's see if it flies. Let's not gild the lily.

I am much more in to talking to folks than whizzing at them, I want respectful discussion, I don't really care if folks agree with me or not. Have NEVER demanded anyone agree with me, I don't always agree with you WW, isn't that absolute fact? But have I ever demanded you agree with me, do I belittle you because you do not agree with me on a topic? Have I EVER treated you disrespectfully when you disagree with me?
Know why I like you, even in the face at times when others are tossing stones at you, it is because my exchanges with you have always been respectful and when we do not agree it is two adults that just see things differently. Frankly, I think you and I have disagreed a lot so why do I look at what you offer as really interesting and aspects I want to talk about, it is because I think you are real, it is because I think you just offer what you truely believe and I respect the heck out of that, EVEN IF I DO NOT AGREE! While I have MUCH love for guys like TP, Arch and many others here, I enjoy going back and forth with you because you make me THINK, you give me aspects that I had not thought of, man that in my book that is as cool as the other side of the pillow!

Darn good take, very doubtful I could make a better case for RJ being our PG but I simply just can not agree with any argument that says RJ should ever play one more second as our UNC PG. I have so far 3years of proof on my side, what ya got to counter that?
Ingram is more athletic than I originally thought! I love his old school game! He reminds me of Burton from Pitt this year…I hated him but he was very good, especially against us! I think Ingram is a better passer, rebounder, and has much more potential bc his size
add Cadeau and we are a potential Final Four team 🙌🏼
Cadeau is currently overshadowing everyone else on the court that Calipari, Scheyer, and other coaches are watching in this AAU game.
2017 - when his back court sidekick was shooting better, when we had Manek, and when even Leaky occasionally contributed, we got very good.
This year Caleb backslid, RJ was sometimes injured, we didn't have Manek, and Armando was struggling down the stretch. Thank God Leaky didn't also backslide, else we wouldn't even have been in a position to turn down the NIT.
I think we've addressed all those deficiencies. We have Ryan, who shoots better than Caleb, defends better, has a much higher basketball IQ, isn't moody (as far as I know), and never takes plays off.
Two years ago in our win over Brown, Paxson Wojcik scored 14, grabbed 6 rebounds, made 3 assists against no TOs and made 2 steals. He shoots 38% from deep, has good overall quickness and specifically a quick first step (per AJ), plays with grit, and he'll be coming off the bench! We didn't have that in 2017 and were still really good with RJ at point.
Withers isn't Manek, but AJ is high on him as a serious outside threat - with a fast-enough release and good shooting motion - as well as a potentially good outside defender if his man draws him out. Not to mention, strong around the rim. AJ thinks he could even play some SF if needed, not that that's likely with Ingram on board. More inside than Manek, but remember how RJ would find Manek inside. Those were pretty plays.
Imagine our rebounding with Armando, Withers and Ingram on the court, and then remember that Ryan and Wojik aren't bad, either. And, to top it off, RJ may have been the best rebounding PG in the league.
I could go on but my point is that this team looks like it was built for RJ to thrive at point.
Not saying Cadeau wouldn't be better. He's a passing savant, after all. But I don't think we need to burn that card on this hand. And it might hurt the chemistry.
That said, if Cadeau comes on, I'll still be eager for the coming season.
Not even as backup PG?
Obviously backing up at point might be what keeps Seth waiting in the wings another year instead of entering the portal. And it won't surprise me at all if Seth starts to turn the corner this season with enough PT.
But . . . is giving those minutes to Seth going to be smarter than letting RJ back up when Cadeau gets a rest and bringing in Wojcik or Wilcher at SG? We don't know how good Wilcher will be, but maybe really good with that extra PT. And we have every reason to expect Wojcik to be quite solid for us.
Point being it's not RJ vs Seth, it's Seth vs Wilcher or Wojcik (or maybe Ryan, depending on who else is on the floor).
OK, so I agree with all dat except the part about RJ at the point, my man I got 3yrs of RJ at the point as my proof, you have what, at most UNC getting on a hot streak in the NCAAT year before last? The first half of that season also happened, as did all of last season.
RJ is fine at the point. He can't make people make their open jumpers. And once people realized they weren't making them, they were able to collapse to close off passing lanes and cuts.

Look, he has played the point for us for 3 years and outside of a great run in the NCAAT year before last, greatly inspired by Manek stepping up it has been a lot of wetting the bed! Not throwing shade at RJ, not laying blame at him for that, he just was playing out of position. RJ has to be at his natural position for this to work, it isn't about his height and weight, it is just that he is not now and I don't see him ever as being a PG. He simply is a shoot first guy and shoot first guys do not need to be at the PG spot, it does not matter what they look like, it matters what they play like. So put him at a position that says shoot the ball and not worry so much about creating for others.
3.2 APG 1.9 turnovers per game - those are his career numbers. He’s not a point guard and anyone who offers him as fine just simply doesn’t know Jack shit about basketball.
Cadeau is a generational talent who sees the floor through a flux capacitor powered time lapse lens and X-ray vision. If he reclassifies we become a team diametrically opposed to last season in IQ, work rate and attitude.
You can go ahead and say it geth, with Cadeau we become a contender for the natty!
