I said this also. The teams body language says it all.Said that about a month ago
General rebounding is also not the most important indicator in who wins/loses like Hubert Davis said in postgame. It's a really old school thought that isn't really the case. You obviously can't be the worst rebounding but to say rebounding is the most important indicator is a bit concerning to me.If Hubert really believes rebounding is so important, as he said, then why has he been recruiting shorter and shorter? That worked with Armando in the middle.
Yes, we are a really short team. But that's by choice. We could play big, but we don't. Yes, yes, because we have an abundance of short talent and you want your best talent on the floor. But you recruited all of these guys. You created a team where the best talent on the floor produces mediocre rebounding.
I don't know if that's bad recruiting, bad development, or bad PT choices - but it isn't where I'd expect someone who believes in the importance of rebounding would position his team.
For those who have forgotten, our 2025 recruits are 6'3, 6'5 and a scrawny 6'9. That's (probably) a little taller than what we lose (if we keep Drake) but not big steps in that direction. If we are really going to address the height, front line and rebounding deficits, we're going to need some can't-miss help from the portal.
