I feel confident that Kenny Williams will step up this year.

Well, I am almost embarrassed to comment on this, pretty known how long and hard I have been trying to get folks to have some faith in Kenny. The solace I have is that I don't believe it will be long before folks see what I have been trying to say for the last several months about this kid. The non-believers will believe, I honestly believe that, some folks just need the proof to point to before they can believe, I tend to trust what I see and what i know about kids as the progress thru Roy's methods.

There were very few that believed in Joel Berry as a freshman, a few began to take notice late that season but going in to last season there was plenty of room left on the Berry band wagon, now try to find a empty seat, there are none, everyone now believes. I do think we will see the same thing when it comes to kenny and I am hoping everyone wants Kenny to have a great season as badly as I do. I don't want that just to be seen as being right, this is not nor should it be about me, I want this for the kid, I want him to have a stand out season for this team and I think we need him to in order to go as far as we dream to go this season.

I hope Kenny has an incredible year but in no way am I confident of it happening. It is all hypothetical at this point because he has yet to do anything that would make me confident. He could shoot lights out but alternatively, he could shoot 20% from three.

Yeah, but finally we are around the corner from being able to see rather than speculate! And who the heck knows, I feel like I do but no way to know til we see it. As you say, he could be great and he could shoot 20%, the mystery will soon be solved for all!

I agree with everything you have ever said about KW except one thing. I don't think there was even a small chance that he would have started at 2 this year. With the current situation, I think he will be the 2nd option at 2, immediately behind Nate. He has a good chance to earn increasing and eventually starter level minutes, but I expect him to come off the bench. I expect KW to find his shot and get even better at D.To be great we have the have solid contributions from KW, TB, Maye, and 1 of 7th or BRob to augment what we get from our starters: JB, NB, Meeks, Hicks, and JJ!

To be clear, thinking TP would have started is not the same as not believing in KW!

TBH, I have more confidence in Brandon's ability to make perimeter jumpers than I do in Kenny's. He has to eclipse last year's percentage but I need to see him shoot 35-38% in order to feel confident.

Well, we need improvement from every one of our returning players and significant contributions from Tony and at least one freshman guard, if we're to go back to the FF. IMO, Joel/Isaiah/JJ must be stellar night in and night out. Kennedy/Nate/Luke/Kenny must be significantly better than last year. Tony must play effectively for 15-20 MPG and either Brandon or 7th must contribute at least minimally. And I think we need Theo to return and be pretty close to the player he's looked like this summer, without disrupting roles/chemistry established in his absence.

IF all those things happen, I like our chances. But that's a big IF. I may be alone but I think many are underestimating how much Marcus and Brice are going to be missed. And losing Theo means that just as roles are becoming defined, they'll need to be redefined upon his return(supposing he does return close to 100%).

Not wanting to appear pessimistic but we face a brutal early schedule we're probably going to lose some games early that won't go over well here. Our fans might want to prepare themselves for that distinct possibility.

I do have hope that by the end of the season, we'll be playing at a very high level. We have the potential, if EVERYONE steps up their games.

I think Kenny could be the key with Theo out. My hope and maybe even belief is that he can be a mini-George Lynch, doing all the dirty work the team needs and stepping up as a scorer in spots.

If Kenny is going to make a significant jump, this is traditionally the year it happens. I believe he will. He seemed to be in 'do nothing stupid' mode last year. I think he will be more comfortable and hopefully be in 'attack when I have the advantage' mode.

Just knowing how things work can change your mindset and make everything easier. You can just play instead of thinking first and then reacting. This game is instinctual and with learning this system as a freshman, that part really has a negative impact their first year.

I hope he does. Many times guys who are great shooters struggle their freshman years. But hopefully Kenny can translate that nice stroke into games, cuz he does have great form. But I'm holding off judgement until I actually see him do it in a pressure situation.

We definitely need it now with Theo out. Also I'd say from the little I've seen of Robinson that he may actually bring more to the table than Kenny. But again this is just a wild ass guess at this point as I've only seen him in the scrimmage.

I believe it is a confidence issue with Kenny and his shooting woes. We will see if he is significantly better this year. We need him to be, and I certainly hope he is.
