Irma . .

So wait. There's people out here that TRULY believe that the government is behind this hurricane. I saw a meme about it earlier and laughed it off. But I actually started reading people's comments on social media and holy crap. They honestly believe that the government is manipulating this hurricane to hit a place filled w minorities who have no flood insurance.

Idiocracy.

my buddy owns an estate sale business here and he took pictures at four different locations today; 2 walmarts and 2 grocery stores...all four were out of water.

My sister in Chapel Hill called last night wanting to know if she could come visit me if Irma was to strike the NC coast. I live in Hickory, a little higher altitude than CH. Told her thats fine, she could look after the house while I was at my mountain house near Glendale Springs.
Do you ever eat at Shatley Springs when you're at Glendale Springs? Love their breakfast.

Have eaten there numerous times. Their breakfast is great.

Was at the grocery store yesterday and all the water was gone. Well, not all the water. There were still about 10 large jugs of some pricey off-brand on the shelf. I watched some dude take all 10 of the remaining jugs and load them into his cart while I was standing right there. Basically a "screw you, every man for himself" move.

This is where camping gear comes in handy. I have plenty of water storage and a water filtration pump as well. So I'm just gonna laugh at all these people when nothing happens and they're stuck with a zillion gallons of bottled water.

Welp, latest track has the eyeball passing directly over Vidalia. There's a caravan of my peeps loading up and heading this way. I'll be hosting a family get together this weekend, lol. Looks like the cultural center of the universe will be located in Benson, NC for a few days.

Gee thanks, Irma.

.......... what the heck lol. The damn stuff comes out of your faucet! Just sit at home and fill up empty bottles.

Also, why do people suddenly eat so healthy when a storm is approaching? lol. Bread, milk, and water? I'm going for the candy bars, frozen dinners, and chips.

They're saying that it's going to be bad on Peachtree.
GOD NO, NOT PEACHTREE.

**** you Irma.

My dad was just at the grocery store. He said it's nothing abnormal. At least one town hasn't lost its mind yet.

@nctransplant you should go buy up all the water at your local grocery store (I'm assuming it's within 20 miles of your house?) just to start an uproar.

This should have been you:

Ya, people do the same thing for blizzards up here. Go running out and stockpile stuff, buying places out of shovels (I always wonder - what the hell happened to all the shovels you all bought last year?). And it ends up being a dusting. I'd be interested to know if stores let you return 20 gallons of water that you no longer need.

LOL. I'm buying up all the beer this afternoon. We actually have a grocery store, post office, convenient store and liquor store here.

Not good iffin' you have unscheduled company coming in for the wknd . .

Tell me about it. My brother said if we had someplace he could fish that he'd like to bring his bass boat. No ish.

@Hark_The_Sound_2010 did you ever end up watching this damn movie?
Probably while eating a Jersey Mike's sub.

Well this is awkward.... I haven't watched the movie yet, or hit up the J-Mikes that's nearby. I realize I'm in danger of losing my OOTB card here. With buying a house, and changing jobs (today's my last day) my schedule has been pretty jammed but I'll get to both of these soon.

He's from Mass. We've been trying to culture him up to prepare him for his eventual move South.

Thank you - I realize I'm like the high schooler that just can't seem to get a grasp on reading, but you guys keep trying and just refuse to let me fail.
