At the beginning of the game last night Hicks scored 2 quick baskets and a free throw and with NC State going small it looked like the mismatch in height would lead to a monster scoring night for Hicks but the senior would end up playing about 8 total minutes. The first 2 fouls he went up strong trying to defend the basket but the last 2 were ones you would expect from a freshman not a senior. No wonder Coach Williams left him on the pines for the last 17 minutes of the game. Yes Luke Maye picked up the slack but athletic wise I would prefer Hicks be in the game. He has been so much better in not fouling as much but last night was not pretty and UNC needs him for more than 8,minutes. What do u think

I think 8 MPG is about right for Isaiah. He's a pretty good player but he's no Luke Skywalker Maye.

Isaiah could have a big night on a regular basis if he could stay in the game for 28 minutes. And while I must admit that he's improved his penchant for fouling somewhat, he still commits far too many foolish fouls. We could easily get 25% more production from such a talented player if he wasn't in foul trouble so often. It's a shame because this is his last rodeo in college and one would have expected him to have fixed this problem by now.

Hicks overall basketball IQ has been his downfall his whole career. As others have said, the fouls he commits are about as bad as they can get. No less than 2 fouls per game on average are him just doing something so boneheaded that you can't help but say "is he that stupid?"
